Guess we'll see soon.
It seems like all the dealers are trying to plant this "limited" seed in our minds to justify the markups they are planning to put on the M2. If they mark up, I move on. Period.
Agreed. I'm not even going to pay MSRP for it when you can get great deals on M3/M4

Just put down my refundable deposit yesterday. Dealer had no pricing information yet. I'm hoping for June-July delivery when current lease is up. Like many here, my decision will be based on base pricing and no markups. I just need the NAV and heated seats with 6MT. But if that pushes it into high 50s, then I may have to think twice.

Caveat: He did not make it clear whether the amount he was referring to was Euro's, UK dollars or US dollars. Having said that, the discussion he entered into was a discussion about speculating the US MSRP.
It is more in Germany, €56k vs. €49k.
The 1M was €51k but with a lot less equipment as standard.

Just curious, what are those great deals on M3/M4? I haven't seen any significant deals on M3/M4.

I can get ED invoice on an M4 right now. Inbox me if you're interested and I will give you the details to my guy.

I can't promise you the same deal but I can promise you a great deal.

Of course you can! It's time for BMW to move some of those Value Priced F8x M cars along with as many other F30 models before the end of the year so they can the keep sales crown and Mercedes is coming on fast

Every time the suspected MSRP goes up, I cross-shop other models and other brands.
haha I mean, I don't disagree with you guys. I couldn't justify the car at a higher price either. But at the same time, you are kind of making my point for me! The rumored allocation is around 1000 M2s (or less) for the US. There are WAY more than a thousand people who would buy the car for $51k. Now at $58K? Now we're probably getting closer to widdling down demand to 1000 people. Its econ 101

Sucks? Definitely. Makes sense? Definitely.

Been saying this awhile myself. The M2 is simply going to be much harder to get than an M3 or M4. It will be a less expensive M car that will bring a lot of new buyers to the brand.
And the beauty of this pricing and sales strategy is that the person that really wants one will wait for it .. Kinda like hellcats and GT4s...

The buyer that wants the best " value " will end up in an M4/M3 or if they are a Porschephile they will " fuck off any buy a 911 " rather than wait for a Cayman gt4

like logically it makes sense to get the better "value" for a m3/m4. i'd imagine you can get one at close to invoice

that said, i think paying msrp for a M2 is what most people are going to have to do if they want it. I know the first year or so it was basically impossible to even find a 2 series and people were paying pretty much MSRP when dealers had them so i would assume it will be the same situation with the M2.

Ok if the price is over 58k than I'm out. I like the car but I dont think this car deserves that price limited or not. I should just save more money and buy a cayman instead. I was super excited about this car until I saw the price.

In principle quite worthy price for such car. Would be silly to expect that cost will be much less.

At a $51K base price, the M2 will be an excellent value. At a $58K base price, the case for why you would pick an M2 over a Corvette or a Cayman S becomes harder to make.

Who said about 58k MSRP? Who would not spend 4K more for the M3 at that point??

Well, it's another $7K if you want an M4 coupe, but I agree that there's no way BMW will price the M2 at $58K. The fact that BMW attempted to silence the OP makes it pretty likely that he was right about the $51K base price.

not sure if posted but im going to assume your price will be 51K USD (FULLY LOADED) as the Canadian car is confirmed at 61K CDN (FULLY LOADED) the base version comes with everything in Canada (no sunroof though) if your price is 51K with options adding 1000's on top then that just would be terrible and i could basically sell my car to you and make a big profit

At this point we have heard enough rumors. I think most of us are just waiting for an official MSRP reveal.

to be fair it does stay FROM 51k.

So 51k base
500 for metallic
3k if you want the DCT downgrade
1k destination

max $55.5k

Do you think the DCT will be the same $2900 as the F8x without the drivelogic? That would make my decision to go 6m that much easier.

I am open to switching to DCT, but I really wish it is customizable like the M3/4

It is the same in all other countries, as it is the same box WITH Drivelogic.
What is missing is the button to select program, instead it changes based on driving mode.
