Software / Coding for 2019 M2C

Lot's of great resources on here and I've done some searching, just not sure I've used the right approach. edit: forgot to mention, it's 6MT

I'm running a stage 2 93 bm3 tune with upgraded charge and down pipes and my CSH has already been replaced. Waiting on the flex fuel sensor to show up and that's likely all I'll do to the motor for a while. My buddy has access to ISTA+ and I almost made the mistake of blindly updating my ISTEP. I'm currently running F020-18-07-547, but I'd still like to take advantage of any upgrades that can be applied that would improve the car. ISTA takes a blanketed approach (and wants me to replace my DME), I would like to avoid a bench unlock and prefer updating maps via OBD2.

Two mods that come to mind are the M2CS Steering changes and full screen car play. Are there any other community favorites I should check into? Is it possible to upgrade certain components and leave the DME as is using E-Sys or another tool.

What a fun car! TIA

-ryan

Well, the two items you mentioned can't be done as you say.

First, the M2C already has the same settings as M2CS for steering.
Second, full screen carplay is not done via coding. It's a hack loaded to the idrive system via SSH to change the active screen resolution.

As far as updates with ISTA, you will not gain any benefits or new features. Often you will lose some things, as you mentioned.

E-sys is the "gold standard" for custom coding, the so called "FDL coding". Bimmercode app took some of those coding settings and built them into an easy to use interface.

I don’t think this is accurate. There is a value change that enables it.

I’d recommend doing the diff and MDM update if that’s available. PM Kubax86 and he can answer all your questions and get it all done remotely.

The value doesn't change the display to full, it just removes one overlay
