About noise...on a long boring trip if you use the comfort or efficient mode it will decrease the ASD cabin sound a lot. I learned that when I did my ED pickup in Germany. Driving all day with the ASD on loud gets old. If you've turned off ASD, well nevermind my comment.

Cut out the tri colors from vinyl for the front bumper slats. I used blue painters tape to make a template and applied the vinyl wet to be able to get them into position.

In the pick below you can see my small misfortune. If you you look closely at the mirror mount in the background you can see its position, which is important because you want to be lined right up the middle of the mount. If you are lined up, the mirror pops off quite readily; if off-center, then you will be likely laying the mirror to rest and coughing up $197.92 to your local BMW dealer for a new one. . . driver side mirror more expensive, so I would advice you start on the less expensive (passenger) side. Many videos online on the topic. These include individuals just 'yanking' the mirror cap off and others prying the mirror cap slightly off and using a mallet to pound it fully off. In my initial attempts and experience, neither is the best approach . . . obviously others have had success that I did not, so it is your call. Ultimately, it just seemed the removing the mirror caps was an all-or-none proposition, and I could not get either of the described approaches to work. My approach obviously came at a cost, but was pretty simple and involved removing the mirror and un-clipping the mirror cap from within the housing. Hopefully, my tip above will prevent you similar mishap. Also, in some videos (M2?) there are three clips that are pinched together with something like needle-nose pliers. My M2C only had two clips and they only need to be pushed to the side with a flat-head screwdriver, or similar tool, not pinched. The outer clips are easiest to manipulate and once disengaged, the inner clip will just pull off with a little tug on the mirror cap. FYI, my CF mirror caps are OEM straight from BMW. Good luck! ///AVM |

500 miles today-- Ely NV to Vacaville, CA. US 50 is a few minutes of twisty fun once in a while, followed by HOURS of boredom as you don't turn the wheel more than an inch or two for what feels like hours on end.
Stopped in Reno and went to the National Car Museum. Nice break in the drive! Driving down to San Jose in the morning to drop off the car at Carbahn. I'll pick it up on Monday, assuming I dry out from a fancy dinner, three wineries in Napa and my wife's 50th birthday party. Getting the Carbahn software installed (without the extra startup roar and burbles, I think), and the M3/M4 intakes, VTT CBC and Mishimoto oil catch can done as well. |

Nobody but members on the forum will notice slight imperfection in fitting Out of curiosity, did you apply the 'yank' approach, or did you remove the mirror and un-clip mirror cap from within the housing? ///AVM |

Since I replaced my mirrors to European style wide angled, I removed mirrors. Then I used a rubber mallet with a flat wooden stick to dislodge OEM mirror cap clips. |

I have no idea, I found a seller on eBay with clear corner tails that caught my attention and grabbed his last set. Paired with amber bulbs and gave the tail of the car a refresh.
