I spent $50K on my first M2 in 10/19 - A 2018 with 2,100 miles, CPO, DCT, sunroof, HK, and full PPE.

Just bought my second M2 a few weeks ago, another 2018 this time manual with MPE, Executive Package, M Performance Package / carbon bits etc with 4,500 miles for $48K.

Looks like the '18 models are holding there value very well whether mileage is above or below 5,000.

I don't know what a Perf Ed is. I suppose he meant "performance edition" but I never heard of that on an M2.

As others have noted, they need to make a profit. Unfortunately, many dealers feel that they need to make an excessive profit.

The m2c is considered a 2019 or newer model in the states

It also matters how picky you are. My wife, who DDs the M2 does not like the competition seats, they are too big for her. So that limited us to looking at OG M2s. I really don't like the LCI digital dash so pretty much that left us with only the 2017s to chose from since the total number of 2016s is tiny.

We ended up buying a 2017, December 2016 build, in November 2019. The car had just under 28k miles on it. We were looking for an LBB one and those were much less common than black or white on the used market and carried a definite price premium over the other colors as well.

We payed 42k +TTL from a dealer, I did need to put new tires on it so really it was 43k.

Just for clarification the dash in the LCI isn't digital it's backlit analogue.

Yeah, but it doesn't have the charm of the BMW analogue gauges.

I'd rather have looks than charm in just about everything.

At least the dealer is upfront about screwing you.

I love M2s as much as the next guy but why 2? Do you still have them both? FYI I paid similar for my 2018 M2 last year which is fully loaded. Dealer said it was a $74K sticker when first purchased. I didn’t know they could go that high and still wonder if that was true haha. Maybe he just meant in add-ons including the PPF/ceramic. I’m stoked tho cause it’s specd exactly as I want. Very excited to take it out of winter storage soon

I think waiting another year or so - M2 values will take a bigger hit and will be a great deal.

Ya never know, maybe they will, maybe they'll hold strong. If the new M2 is not well received that changes the depreciation curve.

+1

Or, maybe, a year from now AGI breakthrough occurs, superintelligence FOOM takes place, and we're all wiped out by a descendant of AlphaGo Zero.

In which case, best to get the M2 now.

A year from now, you could be a battery in the matrix, man! It's time to finally live and enjoy life!

My first M2 was hit twice on the freeway which effectively ended its joyful life. Bought a 2020 X3 M40I, got bored after a month, sold it and bought another M2 to replace the first one.

If I were going to spend $90K+ (two M2s) would have been a pre-owned 911.

FWIW I just posted in another thread that there is a 2017 DTC w/only 9k miles at Carmax listed for $42K. If I didnt want a manual, Id be all over that.

That said I'll likely be closing a deal on a 2018 6MT with 8k miles for $47K shortly. Willing to pay for the stick
I paid ~ 50 for a 2018 6MT with 8k miles last year. Depreciation is definitely happening
