Don't do it, it is a waste of $. The unit is made up of 2 pieces snapped together, any tension from the seatbelt simply separates the "hook/loop from the piece going thru the headrest.

That piece does look... really out of place in a BMW. ABS plastic snap on over the top of the beautiful m2c seats? No thanks.

I'll try what everyone here is suggesting, left hand grab from underneath or above. :/ seems like an "alright" solution. This issue felt specifically bad in the m2c, much worse than others I've driven. B pillar just very very far back, and natural proper seating position quite a bit farther forward (I'm guessing I sit farther forward than most everyone else, every single time someone gets in my car they haveto put the seat back a half foot :/ )

The problem I encounter is the actual buckled part of the belt getting austin powered between the seat bolster and door card. I have to do some hand rigamarole to allow it to pass through.

I've seen this plastic lip, but to remember to place the belt there everytime is kind of a pain.

You can also use the belt holder that comes with the M2C's seat.
See the following image. This is obtain from the 2020 M2C Owner's manual. Page 91.

I've never used it though, I just reach for it using my right hand (My car is RHD) when it is handing on the b-pillar. I'm quite flexible however.

Why did it take BMW that long to figure out people are out of shape and not as flexible

I'm pretty sure my 2020 doesn't have that hook. I dunno though, in a LHD car, it seems very easy and natural to just reach down with my left hand and then grab the bottom part of the belt.

I reach over my chest with my right hand - and every time I do I wish I had the fun E92 extender... why all the hate for that funny bit of kit, I love it!

I might give this underhand left hand technique everyone's talking about a go...

Yes, if the belt buckle is all the way down on it's stopper and you reach for it BELOW the side bolster it normally slides through as you scrape your knuckles on the little tikes Lil Deuce Coupe material door card.

If you go through the bolster like I do by accident because I am 6'5" and 6' of that is torso - your buckle turns into Austin Powers as seen above.

Personally, I think it's a German, Aryan Race type of thing where they assume everyone that buys their cars is tall. Always pissed me off about BMW's.

That is so cool, didnt know it was meant to also hold the belt, and lower the seat. I did notice however when I picked up my car, that that button/switch was sticking out a bit and not flush with the seat back. I was going to say something to the sales guy but noticed the other M2s and M4s were the same way so assumed it was normal. I guess it is because its meant to hold the belt too.

Hmm, I'm German and I'm 5'9" :P

Anyways, I noticed the awkward seat belt positioning the first week of M2C ownership, then I forgot about it (not even sure how I grip the belt nowadays, but it's not a problem anymore).

Very interesting. Never knew what that cut out on the side of the seat was for. This is on my 2020 M2C.

It's there, go take a look. I have a June 2018 build 2019 M2C, and it's present on mine.

It's not necessarily a hook or anything, it just looks like the plastic doesn't fit well. The belt simply slides into it and keeps it from running all the way back to the B pillar. Actually pretty neat.

As soon as I saw his picture...

so do you slide the belt in after you step out but before shutting the door? I can't wait to try this when I get home but am sure it will be the only time I bother

OMG people. Sit in the car. With your left hand reach to the bottom of the seat belt. Grab it with your hand and pull.

What is so difficult about this. Every two door car I've owned has been this way.

Sheesh.
