Yeah maybe when compared with the performance of other track cars from 2004.
You couldn't afford a new BMW M product, stick to your clapped out 14 year old E46 and overpriced Subaru with a 15 year old engine and go post on the subaru forums. |

Check out my old 'clapped out' E46, back from my Bimmer magazine feature when I was 21.

I found mine in less than 3 hours for MSRP in Socal. They were all listed at $5-15K over sticker though when looking at the websites. Just get on the phone and you will find out immediately who is willing to deal and who isn't.

I had to pay for it and I worked my a$$ off for it, but please continue to ass-u-me like you know anything. I drive what I like, and have no complaints whatsoever; I may not be driving a decade old GT3, but that's okay with me. In the interest of attempting to be a mature fellow poster, we've derailed this thread enough and you're welcome to debate me over PM if you'd like.

That's ironic coming from a Subaru owner. I owned an STI and spent years at NASIOC and recall all the threads regarding cracked ring lands and spun bearings. Turns out the forums were right given the recalls.

I owned an '07 STi for 11 years, neither one of those happened to me; however, I've read of those matters too. I do feel it was widely overblown, but an issue nonetheless - fair point.

I was in line to buy the Type R to use as my daily, but eventually backed out. Just didn't want another car with a big ass wing out back. Absolutely loved my previous STi, but my wife sure didn't lol
I am afraid of driving it though, as I'm sure I'll just buy it on the spot. I have a soft spot for Honda's. |

I certainly do watch every race. Do you? Because if you did, you'd not be in denial of the facts that I've presented. Verstappen is currently 3rd in the points with his Honda-powered car. Yes, this is ahead of both of the Ferraris. And once again, BMW does not compete in Formula 1. Why are you guys so upset over these facts?
Jeez. The butthurt is so real here.

Again, no one said the Civic Type R is in the same league as the M2 Comp. I mean we're talking a FWD hot hatch vs. a RWD sports coupe. What I did say, however, is that the comments about even having the nerve to compare two performance vehicles, simply because one "is a Honda" are ignorant and disrespectful of a brand with an equally rich motorsports history. Quit making assumptions. It's also too bad you didn't learn proper grammar somewhere along the way during your stellar engine building career. Might have served you well and made any possible argument you may have had seem half-way relevant to the discussion instead of you just coming off as a complete tool.

No one is even mentioning that BMW is in formula 1. No one is upset, but the absurdity that you think Honda's formula 1 engine has any relationship to the Type R is laughable. So, "rich Motorsport history" or not (which is very arguable given how they shit the bed time and time again, e.g., Mclaren Honda), that doesn't mean shit for the road car. When the Type R is using a v6 hybrid turbo engine, then we can start throwing around F1 prowess as an indicator of performance. Until then, "it's still a Honda" is a valid statement. The racer boy fast and the furious look of it alone is enough to make the majority of people on here not want to buy it. But let's not say here that Seth Curry is an MVP because he is related to Steph Curry. Now, I'm confident you'll respond with some insults in an effort to prove your point, like you did to the other poster. That's cool man, that will just show us all we need to know.
