I wonder if the M2 CS will have the default rear tire width, 265?
Even though it is supposed to be a more track focused weapon. Lol.

Right now it seems like it's an M2C with all the M-Performance parts, a tune, and a higher price tag. M2C should have definitely had a CF roof as a factory option.
I'm hoping BMW is adding suspension improvements and weight reduction to it.

Of course it's an official unofficial marketing video. When something is not ready to be seen by the public, we take it to a private track in an enclosed hauler. Reliability testing, which requires multiple continuous stints, and things you don't want the public to do (like purposefully missing shifts, running extended time on the rev limiter, dragging brakes, and even simulating poor maintenance, among many other tests) happen in private, showing the car in 'camouflage' at the Ring is developing attention. One of the reasons to do that is to gather info before committing to launch for cosmetic items. Another is to set expectations before launch. If you never see a carbon roof on the car, you won't be surprised if it's not offered, but if it is offered, you are more likely to buy it. You rarely see photos or video from the 24 hour reliability testing, or the testing for legal (does the car push enough?) or (can it be driven down Pikes Peak at speed with water for brake fluid and not suffer reduced braking performance?)
I love the official unofficial videos, it shows you how much the people who create the car love it, and consider it an appliance at the same time. Look at the camouflage close-ups, zero concern about avoiding wrinkles and overlap, but the choice to use a cool pattern and not mix up colors or patterns lets you see the real shape. It's also an opportunity for the team that built that car to have something real to show for it. That car will be crushed before the first one is delivered to a customer. That's why Legal is one of the most hated departments by the engineers in an automotive. |

The Belgian tuner br-performance proposes already an ECU tune for the M2CS, that they quote to 455hp/600Nm stock. No idea if those numbers are reliable, but if so, the M2CS will be a beast

On the marketing topic. I believe these forums are a reasonable tool to estimate interest. Talk of lists, what people want, like and don't like, etc. It's clear on this forum that Porsche is superior, and if you play in that pricing territory folks are going to jump from the BMW ship. I'm sure they have someone that does nothing but monitor forums. |

This is a silly video of a camouflage vehicle that appear on the fringes of YouTube, which might appeal to a few BMW enthusiast who actually care. It's not a internally leaked video, it's a paparazzi looking for that clickbait.
They respect the tester and doesn't OD on inside spy shots, since they both have an unwritten understanding of each other's job. Anyone who care and know what goes into this model is the only people that are excited about the video and would buy the car without even seeing it or any sort of foreplay. Sometimes the simplest answer is the right one. |

One thing not many people realize are the outrageous numbers of cars that are built just for testing by M GmbH. If anyone ever manages to post photos or videos of their disposal it will be the b-post mourning of the century.

AFAIK the 455hp (metric) figure quoted by the tuner is inaccurate.
