They’re not opening or drilling the DMEs to unlock on bench like back then. Now they got a way to just hook up to pins on DME and do it.

Lookup my previous thread when I owned an F82 and flashed my DME before the OBD stuff for S55 came to market. That should give you a first hand look at the process to bench flash..

Personally I'd wait for the folks at WinOLS/ Freiling/PTF to crack the newer TPROT for this revision of the DME. Enjoy the car as is for now, it has more than enough power for most drivers anyway. maybe try out a HPDE event ?
Thanks for the info

newbie here -- installed vrsf downpipes, full exhaust and chargepipes/jpipes. Loaded stg 2 93 map. Everything worked well, during test drive upper Jpipe clamp failed and had a boost leak. Fixed clamp.

The car now boost lags and almost hesitates to build boost above 3k rpm. Is it possible the car went into limp mode? Could a refresh of the same map fix this possibly? I will ensure there are no boost leaks also.

Mine felt slower too after installed dp and stage 2 93 as if some of the torque was removed downstairs (lack of back pressure). I'd recommend getting good gas and driving her for a bit till everything relearns itself. Hard to explain but mine got faster and faster with more miles under her belt. I gained .25 et and 2.5mph going stage 1 93 to stage 2 93 with a dp (thought I'd gain more performance honestly). For what its worth with the stock DP running a stage 2 93 tune it felt faster than a catless dp but didn't test it, couldn't have been in my head. To me stage 2 93 and having to run cat less isn't that magically difference making it worth having the added smell for the small performance gain. Having cat-less down pipes most likely shin with E85 though so at least we are ready;-)

I reset all learned adaptations. I will recheck for boost leaks and see if the car responds a bit better after driving a bit and letting it learn again (possibly self adding back timing etc.).

Ive had similar experience. Car becomes faster with more miles. Ive put a solid 11k on my stg2 now. It hauls a$$ but im ready for turbo upgrade now. Waiting till after deployment and ordering. I plan to run meth aswell.

Sadly no tuners in West Virginia. I'm not confident the OBD unlock will be an option any time soon for Bootmod3 or any other tune based on emails I've been sent. I'm also not comfortable removing my own DME and shipping it anywhere, I'm not mechanical. Don't tell me it's not that hard, I could make it that hard. Anyone have first hand experience with an east coast tuner kinda close to West Virginia that could unlock my DME and do the initial Bootmod3 install and setup?

I'm in the same boat here. No one near me can bench flash and I absolutely don't feel comfortable removing my DME and shipping it. So either I drive down to socal and unlock it or never tune. OBD flash is a thing of the past now

Cool features but I'd think you want to spend your time cracking the DME so you can sell a lot more copies of your software

Updated stage 2, V#9.0, burbles are definitely louder even at OEM setting. Haven't really gone for a long drive to test it out the lower RPM torque band properly but so far its great! Also Max cool feature, I kept mine off.

retightened everything, cleared codes. Car still struggled to make boost and hold it. As if it was retarding timing, AFR and boost. Reflashed stg2 93 again, problem solved. Car feels way faster than stock and drives like near stock as far as smoothness.

They can on a bench but not via OBD unless a miracle has occurred. Count me in for a tune if OBD is indeed available.

I doubt it but if it's true that's great news.

Nothing on social media. Doubt it. If it's true I'll be enjoying this cold weather soon.

What I don't understand is all these shops who sell and tune with BM3 can't bench flash it on their own??
