Ecutek is the only one compatible with a flex sensor for tuning calibrations. I have a sensor going in right now on my Ecutek S55 M2C.

Ecutek is a more professional tuning platform and it is more custom than BM3. They don't offer OTS maps and they require a dealer/tuner in their network to perform the tuning.

I've been running Ecutek for over a month now and have received many custom calibrations from my tuner based on my driving preferences and logs. New racerom software is soon to be released with steering wheel map switching and true flex fuel calibrations (Ethanol content sensor sends signal to the canbus...no loading a tune for E85 or Pumpgas switching of fuels)

I can't believe ECUTEK has a "dealer" in Central Oregon. Nothing is ever here!

After the initial programming, can you do some remote work to dial it in?

Bend Calibration does pretty much everything remotely minus whatever comes in locally (obviously). With over 20years of tuning experience on too many platforms/ecu's to write down...can't go wrong in my opinion. Also Bend Calibration has their own F80 which they tune on Ecutek.

The tuning process can go several ways but the easiest is receiving a new CAL through email and pulling logs. I will pull logs and send them in for review and I'll provide my feedback. With my E46 M3 for example I've had dyno days where Bend Calibration will login remotely for the whole tuning process. Or race events Bend Calibration will either receive logs remotely or come in person if there's enough cars at the event which Bend Calibration has tuned. For example at the Shift S3ctor half mile events there's usually around 4-8cars there that have been tuned by BC and they all run wicked fast. (188mph daily M3, 190+ daily supra) Supras/M3's mainly at that particular event anyways.

I did everything for my 12/2018 build remotely and to this date has continued. For post 03/2019 builds the ecu will need to be unlocked manually first.

Also any further Ecutek discussion should be done in the Ecutek threads at the respect of BM3 and their products.

Has anyone with the older iStep (in the US) brought their car in for service? I need to bring my car in for a window issue and I don't want them to flash over the old iStep. Or do the US models not matter as we do not have the OPF filters?

My car went in for an oil change plus a few other concerns. Got the car back a week later with a new rack and pinion and updated software. MY18 M3 ZCP 9k miles.

It does matter. If they update the software, it will not be possible to unlock the DME via OBD. I already had two dealer visits since March software came out, one for an oil change and one for another small issue. I have a very good relationship with my service advisor and the shop foreman. I told them not to update the software and if they have to, I asked them to just let me know. Both times before the draler visit, the car was flashed back to stock, the DME was locked, and driven for at least 50-60miles on stock map. Long story short, the dealer never touched it. I was able to OBD flash after both times. In fact, both my SA and shop foreman knows that the car is tuned (and returned back to stock for dealer visits).

They won't update the ISTEP version unless there is a recall fix on your version. I just had my first service. The ISTEP version is the same now as it was before I took it in.

Does anyone have the firmware for the BM3 wifi OBD box? BM3 doesn't have it posted now. I'm going to build one so I need a firmware version to connect. After that it should update itself.

Everything you've said in this thread is pointless garbage. You've contributed nothing. Go away.

Assuming that 72 is the year you were born and not your actual age (or IQ), we're probably closer in age than you realize.

Regardless, you've contributed exactly nothing except brag about something that you clearly can't do. Precisely zero people have any faith in you. In fact, if you went head to head against a Golden Retriever in cracking the ECU, I'm going to give the nod to the Golden because he hasn't lied to everyone and has far more endearing qualities. Furthermore, the world is collectively dumber from reading your posts and continued "defense" of your skills. We give you no credit and may God have mercy on your soul.

Want to prove us wrong? Deliver results.

Thanks and have a mediocre day!

Why don’t you answer my simple questions a few pages back? If you were an embedded software engineer you would be able to. If you can’t, or aren’t, then you have no business talking on this topic.
