Buying exhaust OS

Evening,

Has anyone purchased an exhaust from OS and had it shipped? I am seeing crazy prices for mpe on eBay (another thread) and wondered if it’s a different exhaust to what we get here?

I am partial to the Remus but at $4300 plus tips it’s insane

Its crazy how they go for 1600 (2200+tax aud) ex tips when they go for 4/5k here

If someone organises a group buy of some sort at US prices, im all ears

I took a look at buying the M-Performance exhaust from Cotswold BMW in the UK. They're regularly helping UK based folks (here is a thread they run on parts pricing) ... and I used them to get a genuine M-Performance rear diffuser for my car ... landed cost was about $900 compared to $2,400 buying locally.

At the time, I recall it was going to cost about $3k landed (they had a sale going) ... so you'd have to cough for GST, but even then, it was less than half the price of buying here.

I didn't end up pulling the trigger and I'm happy with the stock exhaust ... so just sharing my experience.

Cheers,

As V.smurf mentioned Cotswold Bmw in the UK would be my pick if i was to purchase the Bmw MPE from overseas, they were very helpful when i was looking to buy last year and pricing was very competitive, however after much deliberation i ended up purchasing a Remus system locally.

Car only has about 45km on it as of today so a while before I can do anything anyway

I'm considering the Remus exhaust. Have one on my Triumph Thruxton and the workmanship is fantastic.

How have you found it on the M2? Are you happy with the sound and can you notice any difference in how the car feels?

Cheers,
Alex

Would suggest trying a sport cat downpipe first. Nice volume increase with added performance.

Only problem going down this route is the warranty issue. BMW will find any excuse to void the warranty. Getting the MPE will not void the warranty.

Advice from my dealer was the sportcat had no general affect on warranty (& nothing said at my 15K service). Of course an unethical dealer could make life difficult but they would still need to demonstrate the link between sportcat and warranty issue.

I stayed away from MPE because of drone, cold start rattle and reports of the muffler filling with water (though the updated MPE has a drain hole)

Did you get the down pipe? If so is the sound worth it?

I’ve had a Fabspeed sport cat in for over 5K km, IMO yes the sound is worth it + there is a little extra performance

I'd be surprised if a tech even picked up that the part had been changed. It looks relatively OEM.

If you don't mind sharing - how much were you quoted for the exhaust including gst and shipping from cotswold bmw?

I'm selling my Milltek system from my M2 N55 here in Sydney for $2200 (with CF tips, also have the polished ones available if needed) for anyone interested?

How did you find the exhaust? Any specific reason for selling?

Easy fit, looks fantastic and sounds great, unfortunately I use my car for work and corporate client visits all day so it's not a good look to be turning up in a loud sports car. I've put my stock exhaust back on, and I miss the sound especially the turbo spooling

Did you consider getting a valve controller like the cg precision? I got one for mine which defaults to closed and it made a considerable difference and I'm running the fabspeed downpipe/Remus catback combo. Admittedly I've also eventually had cold start delete on my tune.

I've removed cold start and the Milltek has dual valves (OEM only has left side).
