I installed this pipe a couple weeks ago on my M235i and so far it definitely has freed up low end torque and high end hp. This is with boost targeting 22.5Psi. I wrote Mike a review that is currently up on Ebay. The intake noise with the FTP Intel & BMS is insane! Reset those flash tune adaptations.

How much of a PITA to install it? Looks kind of cramped, any tips, hints or suggestions would be great.

Yes - well fiddly if installing in isolation.

post #23 in the link below helped me a lot

https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show...t=inlet&page=2

I installed mine on my M135i whilst upgrading FMIC and boost pipes - much easier so plan on doing the same with M2 [will also install GFB DV+ at the same time whilst there's better access]

Just ordered their charge & boost pipes on Wednesday and DHL just delivered them to me in Sydney, Australia today. Super fast delivery time frame. Plan to install them in the New Year so will let you know how that goes.

Quality of the parts looks great at this stage so seems like a winner to me!

Cheers,
Alex

Did you order the inlet pipe, or just the charge pipes? If you get the inlet pipe, please show some side-by-side pics next to the stock pipe and measure the internal opening so we can compare to the Pure solution.

I haven't bought it fitted either yet. I'm, like many others on here, waiting to see a photo or measurements of the FTP unit before deciding which to buy. I like the design of the FTP better, but the Pure model is known, measured, tried and tested. Until someone posts dimensions... I'm not going to be buying the FTP I'm afraid.

I have a really, really, really, really hard time believing that this mod could free up any HP or torque gains.

Agreed. I did it (and the other FTP pipes) when I replaced the turbo bc it was easy to get to and for added reliability on the track.

Didn’t get the diameter measurement, tho.

Does the inlet pipe increase turbo sound?

I definitely have a little more turbo sound now, but I did the Dinan turbo upgrade at the same time.

On oem tune probably not. Maybe when it is hot and the turbo needs to compensate for that. The oem inlet is a joke

Cool. So, who’s going to measure these two pipes?

Here's how Pure inlet pipe ID (~56mm/2.25") compares with stock ID (~47mm/1.875")

Need to see a similar comparison FTP inlet to stock or FTP & Pure side by side.

That's such a fugly transition. It might not hurt performance but it's certainly not pretty.

Are we certain the Pure inlet piece and the new, full Pure inlet pipe have the same measurements?
