A test drive would help a lot. They are really a night and day different driving experience overall. The Tesla is like a magic carpet ride. The BMW is a Beast that must be controlled. One thing that bothered me about the Tesla was the driver/car interface. Virtually every command must go through the laptop screen which looks like it is nailed to the dashboard. Then you have to look away from the road in order to touch, slide and tap the screen to navigate the control menus. My M2C has the iDrive touch screen but I've have never touched it! Can you imagine the screen in your car that looks like a tablet screen with fingerprints and smudges all over it? I know it must seem petty but for some it would be an unbearable thing to look at.

Do you find yourself using tech features in the M2C like adaptive cruise? (I'm assuming it has it). I find that I use less of those things in a drivercentric car. I've never used it in the f-type.

It doesn't have adaptive cruise, it has the standard one with brake function.

I believe the logic is that since M2 is roughly $10k less than M3/M4 that the M2 CS will be $10k less than M3/M4 CS. Hopefully M2 CS base price is less than $90k.

I saw a brand new M4CS today at Williams Manchester. 30% discount £100spec to £69k.

A £59k M2CS would still be incredibly expensive. I think the difference to M4CS will be more. I can't see it working otherwise.

Time will tell.

If they can somehow get the pounds reduced to the original 3450 lb curb weight (3510 with DCT), the 450 hp output will be sufficient to warrant the CS moniker. That power:weight ratio may enable it to break into the 11s during testing.

M4CS vs M2CS rough price difference guess

I’m guessing the M4CS will be roughly $20k more than M2CS.

hope not...did they ever justify the price difference in the M3-M4...I dont think they did because they are still offering steep discounts trying to get rid of them.

This would be about $80k base price for M2 CS. Roughly the same as X3 M competition base price. Also close to M4 competition base.

Bimmerblog states CF hood and CF roof. Then there's CF rear spoiler and diffuser. Add in all the rest of the upgrades and it looks like at least a $15k premium over the M2C.
I'll estimate $75,890 base MSRP.

I don't think it'll come in at under 3300lbs. I think there's hope that it is between 70-75k. I've lowered how much I'm willing to pay now that I've added the C8 and model 3p as options. I'm hoping they are listening to you though 😊

This!

A couple months back a friend of mine who works at our BMW store was talking with an employee at BMWNA. I can't remember who, or what position this person held, so I can't speak to the reliability of what was said. However this person stated that the CS should be "in the 70's" (USD MSRP). Surely that would be a base price without CCB etc.

I really can't see BMW setting M2CS prices akin to what F80 CS prices were for a couple of reasons. 1. The M3/M4 is the flagship, why would they allow an M2 to eclipse the M3/M4? 2. The F80CS MSRPs were too high...hence them sitting on lots, the increased lease support (residuals and MF), and the trunk money all of which took a 100k car and effectively made it ~85k. 3. The market competition, an 80-90k M2 is going to be cross shopped and be left wanting in comparison to other makes in that price range.

...at least I hope so

They seriously duck taped the spoiler on - that's great.

If they were making more than ~2200 of these, I would be interested - I am not paying over sticker or fighting to get one. Maybe it will be like the 1M and they end up extending the production...will be interesting to see.

What is a realistic weight, 3,500 pounds with DCT and 3,450 pounds manual? Definitely won't be 3,300 pounds.

I wish they would just announce this thing already, and give out their allocations. Even if it's for summer 2020, c'mon already

I agree completely! The longer they hold out, the longer I'm expecting them to put in development time that would somewhat challenge the GT4 and C8. But I know I will surely be disappointed.

At least if they announced it earlier, the excuse of not being better than some of its new competitors can hold...

Better be great M2CS!

It seems like they announce new cars as close to production date as possible.
