You want a fun, Sharp, reasonably comfortable car for the street. Go too far and you have a car that doesn't do either job well.

Well put and so true!

Just upgraded my M4 to PS4S tires...the difference from the OE Continentals is absolutely remarkable!

Agreed.

However, it would be nice to have the option to actually pick your poison by offering different configs. Porsche does that. You can make it more track focused by selecting bucket seats, opting out of infotainment, and many other things.

Individually spec vehicles would cost more overhead, which would be passed along to consumer, whom would probably reject the idea of paying a 100k for a vehicle, even if it's exactly what they wanted.

The Volkswagen Group markets the Porsche brand to a particular type of consumer, whom has the means and don't mine paying for the privilege of getting a vehicle exactly how they want it.

BMW modulation of vehicles saves cost and in turn it is usually passed along to the consumer.

There is usually a rhyme behind every reason.

Is that really why?

So how's any of this different from a GT3 or the GT4 with bucket seats? - How come those cars have no such issues? - I presume they have airbags in the bucket seats? And if so, why wouldn't BMW?

IMO, this should be an option, just like CCB. I would gladly pay more for proper buckets. In fact, I would take bucket seats over ridiculous spoilers, front lips, diffusers, and exhausts.
What I was saying was the E46 had airbags in the doors and a pillars not the seats. The F80 and G80 have airbags in the seats. Gt3s and 4's don't have airbags in the seats do they?

Hope they price it reasonably. Probably be $100k smh. Really cool car but hard for me to see the value in these top their M2s and M3s.

$100k would be closing in on a base price of the new 911 carrera. Surely it has to be less than the M3 or M4 CS.

I would buy one if it were $70k...it's gonna be way more than that especially bc I'm sure dealers will add on 5-10k....

I would consider one with zero options - don't want CC brakes, an auto or one other single option plus, I love AW.

Find one sitting a while like the M3CS's were ( two were at my local dealer at least 6 months collecting dust) and I bet you could get a M2CS under MSRP easily.

I would guess ~$70K.

The X3 M competition base is about $77K whereas the X4 M competition is at $80K. The base for a M2 CS has to be in this area.

Agreed!

Based on everything we have seen and know....a realistic MSRP is going to be in the $75-80k for a base with no Options, no Destination, and no Dealership market mark-up!

With that said, maybe add another $10k to cover the rest?

Not cheap!

And on top of that a CSL version is coming out next 🤣

It's ok, it'll drop to $70k soon in this market.

Definitely no comparison.
One is ugly and unique while being a pretty good driver's car.
One is aggressively sporty and less unique while maybe being a pretty good driver's car.
The speed and quickness wont compare, the interiors wont compare, the sound is too different to compare, the steering wont compare... They are different cars.
I agree there is no comparison.. and we shouldn't try. One car is 10ish years old already.
The 1m was a great car(looks aside) the M2CS should be a great car too.
Lets leave it at that ONLY butthurt from one side or the other comes from comparisons like this.

U may be right, but I wont budge over $75-80k...
anything more than that and i will pick up a M2C, 12 k dinan mods, and wrap it a decent color...and them 763 wheels I cant stand the competition wheels.
sounds like that may be even more expensive

I think I've tumbled to this ballpark. If it's over 80k I may jump ship to a Tesla model 3 performance. I think the around town fun of the model 3 would be tough to beat. This could all change with a test drive, but tech keeps luring me in.
