ED & Carplay Setup

For folks who did ED recently, do they set up your carplay at delivery? I am banking on using Waze during my ED trip next month but i got worried when i saw somewhere (i don't remember where) that connected drive features aren't available till the car hits US soil. is that true?

would love to hear from anyone who used carplay features during their ED.

Doesn't work, the US nav features aren't activated till you get to the US. You can use the maps they give you on a thumb drive or use google maps on your phone.

US Nav features don't work, but CarPlay is not a US nav feature as the nav comes from the phone. Do you mean that because connected drive doesn't work while in the EU you cannot "activate" CarPlay?

That's how I read his statement but if someone else can confirm, it would be great

last week's connected drive outage in the US and its impact on Carplay confirms that carplay just doesn't work without connected drive connectivity. So no Carplay during ED

Correct, I believe you can't activate it in EU.
