To help you price, I'd take a look at this thread:

https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1551258&page=6

There are folks getting leftover 2018 cars that are still new for very low $50's or even just under $50k after rebates.

You have to factor in depreciation as soon as you took ownership, mid-40's, maybe high 40's for the right buyer is probably where you'd need to be at if you wanted to move it even with next to no miles on it.

thanks for the info, that's quite a deal for the 2018 models.

Maybe I should just keep the car and try again in a few years, but I don't think the M2 will keep value like the Z4M due to the new M2 competition and CS.

Yea, it sucks how badly cars depreciate, but I think you're right about just keeping it a while longer.

I have no idea how to price it, so please let me know what you think my car is worth. Worst case scenario, i will just keep it and eventually I will be able to take my son to preschool with it.

Window sticker was $61,650 with various M performance parts installed by the dealership.
I do take it out for a spin every few months... but since my son was born, I think I have to swap the M2 for this:

Car:
2017 AW M2, Manual. Picked up in October 2016.
440 miles, got the first maintenance (1,200 miles or 1 year) done on 4/06/2018

Price:
$58,000

Location:
Northern California, will ship, buyer will have to pay for it.

Upgrades include:
1. M Performance Exhaust with Carbon Fiber tips
2. Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser
3. M Performance Carbon fiber Mirror Caps
4. Black Kidney Grilles
5. Stainless Steel Pedals
6. Black Side Grilles
7. Thinkware F770 Dashcam with Cellink dedicated battery for parking mode
8. VSC-2 for controlling the exhaust valves

Please PM for more information!
Thanks!
Great looking car and awesome build, but unfortunately a 2017 car with 0 miles is in much worse condition than a 2018 low mileage car, years put more wear & tear on the car than mileage.

IMO you should just keep it if you are not willing to let it go for less than 50k, i don't think you will ever get a realistic person who pays more than that.

same boat

I'm in the same boat with a ultra low mileage 2018 and will probably need to end up keeping it for a few years to avoid the pain of 20-25% first year depreciation.

But one thing to keep in mind though, those 2018 leftovers are gone gone gone. Anything left on the lots at this point is going to be DCT and/or loaded with 10k of carbon fiber dealer add-ons.

45-46k tops, makes no sense to buy a 17 for any more than mid 40's when you can get a new 18 with LCI upgrades, 1 extra year of warranty and maintenance for 50.

yea, I think those 2018 leftovers are long gone as well...

I had to pay 5k markup to get my car, and then BMW introduced the competition model a year or so later, I seriously think I got screwed big time by BMW. They should have at least make the competition model more exclusive, then the OG M2 wouldn't be suffering this bad.

The new 18's may be gone but now there are lightly used 18's that will always be pushing down prices of 17's and 16's.

The joys of car purchasing, I usually keep for a long period so value is gone either way with me. Seeing used M2C showing up with typical 10% to 15% deprecation already on '19's and they aren't limited productions so they won't be overally valueable either.

That really sucks... M2 has always been my favorite car upon release, but i ended up ordering a F80 M3 86k MSRP at 2500 below invoice plus incentives, i then got married, wife got prego, transfered my M3 out, I am now driving a SUV...

M2 6MT will always be on my radar tho, one day, i will get one =/.

Sorry to hijack your thread but are you saying you got the VSC-2 for controlling the valves? Does it actually work? Does it work with the drive mode switch (closed in Comfort, open in Sport)?

The reason I'm asking is that CG Precision replied to inquires that the VSC-2 was not compatible with the M2+MPE.

yea, they work. the valves can be linked to the homelink buttons and you can control the valves on demand, open or close.

I wish you luck with the sale of your M2. It is exactly what I was looking to purchase and would have if I did not take delivery of a 2020 M2C this past Thursday.

As for depreciation, the M2 does not seem too bad to me. This vehicle will sell for probably 25% +/- from purchase price after 3 years. Realize it is exceptionally low mileage but the 3 years trumps it in this circumstance.

For reference, I sold a 2012 Mercedes S65 AMG last fall which, though quite beautiful and comfortable, depreciated horribly. Original MSRP $215k. 2nd owner who is a friend and owns a local independent dealership bought it in 2015 with 20k miles for $110k (50% loss over 3 years). I bought it in 2016 with 25k miles for $80k (just under 30% loss over 1 year). Drove it for 2 years and 10k miles and sold it for $52k (35% loss over 2 years). That hurt all prior owners especially the first owner. Never again for me

Once again, GLWS. Beautiful car and don't feel too bad about the depreciation. It's the nature of the beast for new vehicles except for certain exotics or Porsche models.

thanks for sharing your story, I will never purchase a performance car brand new again, maybe leasing is a better option. or just get it used.

Make me offers before I sell it to vroom.

Same boat
Paid 63k .. over msrp 2017.. all the hype of this
Same m2er bloggage.. people were bidding 10k over !
some thought it was like the 1m ..3 years later dealers are offering high 30s

Just like any other car , half off by year 3.
Even more problematic is the stigma of M cars
Raced.. abused .. or not perfect ... then they want it new

The circle of life..

yea, all the hype meant nothing.
what makes me mad is that they introduced the competition and make it the base model... at least make it more exclusive, more expensive. like the M3, or M4 CS.

Send me some strong offers by 11:59pm tonight, 9/10/19.
I am honestly tired of this, and need this gone to make room for the new car coming on Sunday.
Thanks.
