Would 788 Front Wheel work as a spare?

I am trying to figure out the right spare situation.
May be easier to just get a spare 788 wheel if it can fit on the rear for longer trips in the event I get a flat.
Does anyone know if the 788 wheel would fit in the rear?

Yes, it would fit perfectly actually. The offset is effectively identical to the front when you take the narrower width into account. The only thing is you’ll be driving with a 245 on one side and a 265 on the other for a while.

If unidirectional tread is on your spare… would it it matter if you need to mount in wrong direction?

No idea… thinking out loud.

My main concern is clearance, as long as it clears then this would work.

It will fit. I'm not sure it's the best idea but I'm 99% sure it will bolt up and fit fine. I considered running 4 front wheels for snows at one point.

This would not be for long durations. More so if you get a flat on a long drive I would feel more confident in running one of these wheels instead of a spare.

Front will for rear just fine. Overall diameter is close enough I think. It will take a lot of space in trunk though.

Bought a spare kit from… ?bimmerworld?
Didn’t like the garbage scissor jack and lug wrench. Modified the foam storage insert with cut out openings for a single legged jack and tire block for merc on eBay, a cool collapsible wrench from Amazon. Takes up half the height from a full size front.

If the rear does flat, I’ll swap front wheels to back and place spare on front. Similar to my old s2000 with the teeny tiny space saver spare.
