Just ordered a Quickjack... from Costco

I've been tempted to get one of these for a while, and was hoping to find either an eBay sale code or some other sale to pick one up.

Costco Canada has had the BL-5000SLX for quite a while, and I'd heard that some warehouses in the US were carrying them for a while.

Costco's US website didn't have any Quickjack models listed when I looked previously, but this morning I checked and it was there, for $1,099.99, which is a pretty hefty saving over list price. Link here:

Do I need it, no. Is a nice to have for working on the car, and for detailing, YES!

Wow, that is a great price. Good find!

I recently had my hydraulic unit replaced under warranty. The relay in mine went bad (was tripping the breaker when I tried to lower the lift, going up was fine). The newer hydraulic units are a bit lighter since they changed the reservoir from metal to plastic.

They still need to figure out how to not overtighten the plugs they put where you're supposed to install the QDs though. These things are always covered in ATF when you pull them out of the bag...

Oh, and by the way... Those of you in CA, the delivery is super fast. The Costco website says that it's going to take 3 ~ 5 business days, but mine is coming tomorrow.

This is actually a problem for me, because I'm currently in Korea (for work and visiting wife's family), and won't be back until Sunday. I've been rushing around this morning contacting neighbours to see if they can move it into my house!

I just checked and mine is coming tomorrow too. In three packages! Hope I don't have to sign.

So I returned home from my two week trip to Korea on Sunday afternoon, and assembled my QuickJacks in the middle of the night not being able to sleep because of jet lag!

Inspired by an image I'd seen on the QuickJack website, I mounted the frames to my garage wall last night; still battling jet-lag!

I mounted the frames using 2 x 3 3/4" and 2 x 5" 3/8" wedge anchors. These are designed to bolt something to a wall, but can be used to just mount a stud to the wall, which is what I did.

I mounted the studs about 1.5 inches into the wall, leaving 3.5 inches sticking out for the longer bolt, and 2.25 inches sticking out for the shorter one. I also used two slim 3/8" nuts and a washer on the end of each stud to stop the frames from potentially sliding off, and wrapped insulating tape around the threads to make a smooth surface for the frames to hang from.

I'm pretty happy with the results:

A couple of updates:
  1. I tried heading to Costco to see if I could do a price match to the QuickJack they had in the warehouse, but by the time I got there, they were all sold out. For those in NorCal, Santa Rosa had 7 in stock when I got the guys in Costco to check.

  2. Lifting my M2 was easy, but I had some issues lifting my wife's Honda Pilot. Basically the BL-5000SLX is slightly too short, and the rubber blocks don't seem to like lifting the odd shaped jack points that are attached to the pinch weld.

I got in touch with QuickJack / Bendpak, and they were super helpful. They offered me a great deal on the 'SLX Frame Extension Kit' that sits on top and extends the reach by 6 inches, and also gives you an extra 1.5 inches of height, the 'SUV and Light Truck Adapter' set, and a new set of mounts that attach to the top of the SUV and Light Truck Adapters. Bendpak didn't say not to talk about these different mounts but with SEMA around the corner, I'll wait until they make all their announcements before I share photos just in case.

I know I definitely needed the Frame Extensions if I was ever going to lift my wife's Pilot, and the rest of the parts should make it much more stable.
As before, I mounted the Frame Extensions to the wall with wedge anchors. The wall is full now!

Awesome! I wanted one to but I have a lifted Tacoma with 34" tires so I think the quick jack would barely start touching the frame at full extension.

I cant justify buying the quick jack just for my M2c.

Next house I buy definitely getting a garage with 14' ceiling so I can have a proper two post lift.

use solid wood blocks.... a lift is a lift as long as you are not over capacity.

Costco is having a special on the QuickJack BL-5000SLX.

$999.99 valid today through 12/11/18 (while supplies last).

This is the lowest price I've seen and better than their SEMA pricing. Includes free shipping.

I picked one up few weeks ago. Still in the boxes as I continue to try and convince/justify the cost lol.

In this pic, is the car at max height? How about the rubber pads...don't they add another 5"?

It's on the lower of the two heights. Plus you can stack the rubber blocks to give yet another approximately 3 inches. I was putting my track pads on so didn't need extra height.

Are you able to stack both blocks and slide the lift under the car? I can't fit that with my 3-series. Then again, my hockey puck pad adapters might be why.

Depends, some cars are just a little too short to make that work. Haven't tried with the M2 because 90% of the time I am just doing brake pad changes for the track.

I am sure the hockey puck adapters are not helping, having said that your probably getting 18" or so of clearance already so not likely a problem.

Oh, I'm not complaining about the clearance I get with my Quickjack. It was just surprising to me that an M2 might be able to fit both blocks stacked together underneath the jack points.
