From EVO article. Like almost all BMW's a track pad and fluid change will be necessary.

What’s it like to drive?

We got to drive the M2 both on the road and the track, the brilliant Ascari in the south of Spain. We hit the track first and you notice the improvements almost immediately. For starters, the body strengthening has done the trick. The already meaty steering now feels more precise, the front end responding crisply to your instructions. Traction is strong out of the slower corners, while through the faster turns there’s beautiful balance, the subtle stabilising understeer easily neutralised with a stab of the throttle. Switching off the stability control reveals a car that can be steered as effectively with your right foot as it can with the steering, the stiffer rear axle and tweaked diff delivering a more faithful and progressive breakaway. At the end of our stint the only demerit is the grumbling of brakes – although they still stopped the M2 effectively.

If they were not using track pads I guess that's acceptable?

Of course with track pads and fluid it will be great, but so do you really need big heavy brakes? Maybe with the same mods even the standard "blue" brakes are fine on track....

Just remember the anti-squeal compound. Else your day to day life will be misery and you will be ducking down at every set of lights with embarrassment. Ask me how I know.

So 1584.13 USD for the discs and pads plus 3280.91 USD for the calipers for a grand total of 4865.04 + install

Considering a Brembo GT bbk kit is like $8000 that's not that bad I guess. Idk if I can justify retrofitting them though at that price. The stock brakes work just fine for me on the street. I just like the look of the larger calipers.

I wonder if It would be possible to just move the OEM 4 pot front calipers, pads and discs to the rear and only upgrade the fronts to M2C bbk to save some money.

You might be able to do this if you get a caliper bracket to fit the correct mounting points.. The M2 rear rotors are 370mm and front 380mm.. Need to do some measurement to see how far off it is.

And hang in there, u know someone with money to burn will be swapping out those big sliver calipers for red ones, in the name of fashion..

They'll be up on eBay in no time.

That's my take too ... I really hesitated to take the optional breaks, but at the end of the day I might track the car 2 or 3 times a year max, the rest will be road. So if I am unhappy with the blue ones I can still change the fluid and the pads, if still unhappy I can still get the optional breaks mounted. Also I am not a track racer or pilot, so with my little level I guess the blue ones will just do fine !

Priced the full retrofit today at £3400 GBP after discount.

Interestingly, the part numbers for the front pads equate to the F10 M5 optional accessory “sport pads” part no: 34112284465

These are really expensive & the stock F10 M5 pads (34112284869) are quite a bit cheaper.

I wonder if the factory fitted M2 2NH (silver / grey calipers) will come with the stock (34112284869) pads and the accessory catologue 2NH retrofit kit (red) maybe then comes with the sport pads (34112284465) ??

ME-22 silent on the street....hmmmm; sounds interesting...is this really the case with ME-22? I was under the impression that MX-72 was the only Endless pad that was silent on street and ok on track. ME-22 sits below ME-20 in the Endless range.

https://www.prosportauto.co.nz/page/ENDLESS_Brake_Pads/

I tried ME-20 and the result is the following; great brake pads on track....but very noisy on street and also on track. I stopped searching for a silent brake pad for track duty and street.... I just switch to track pads when I go on track and switch them back to street pads the day after.

I very much doubt silver will be available as a retrofit kit, as that’s the colour they come in when spec’d from a factory order. The retrofit kit, which is the part number I posted, is for the red version.

I’d imagine it’s like the F3x blue calipers which are only available in blue on a factory order but come as a retrofit kit in either orange, red or yellow.

Kit includes 4 x calipers 4 x discs & all pads.

Retail is £4250 GBP - discounted to £3400 GBP by a UK main dealer.

Thanks for clearing this out...so it's the red kit that is meant as aftermarket kit.
