I originally tried 295/35 R7s in the rear, but they were too tall and had to go 295/30s. They don't make 265/30 R7s, but the balance was still good front to rear and there was tons of grip and it was a blast!

For cheaper tires, I think I can fit a 305/30 RE-71R in the back, but I probably won't try that until next year.

Again, this is with 19x9.5 ET33 fronts and 19x10.5 ET45 rears. I did need a 3mm spacer for the R7s to clear the front suspension, no spacer needed for the Trofeo’s.
What do you think about the RE71R 305/30-19 fitting in the rear with stock 10" wheel, ET40? (i.e. street class autocross). Is the issue that to fit the 305 you need to move inward in offset (i.e. to ET45) since that of course isn't possible without a wheel change. If Bridgestone would just make 275/30-19 and 295/30-19, it sure would solve a lot of problems.

Then again, the M2C is probably going into A-street, so actually competing with it doesn't look appealing...

Regards,
Chuck

I heard of a guy running this at Watkins Glen, but I don’t think it will work if you lower the car. With stock suspension, it should fit.

For B-street auto-x I mounted 305/30-19 RE71's on OEM rear wheels. And for the front I used APEX 18's (31mm offset?) with 285/30-18's. No clearance issues and no spacers required on stock suspension/alignment. I installed a Dinan adjustable rear sway bar to increase rear spring rate to eliminate any potential under steer. Only had the car out one time with this setup so far, but liking it!

Sounds good! I can't fathom that not using a big front bar wouldn't be the best solution though? Reduces camber loss up front (less roll), makes transitions faster/more taught, plants inside rear tire harder, etc. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to hear of your further exploits with this setup!

I've got the problem that 18" wheels won't fit the M2C, so I have to use 19s all around (or 20s, lol).

Thanks for the info. At your convenience, I would be most interested is seeing pictures of your car with this setup.

To remain Street class legal, it would have to be something like the 18x9ET31 EC-7.

Sadly, not an option on my M2C

Not sure what the offset is on the 788 wheels on M2C, Does anyone know max tire size with the 788's on M2C at stock height? Must be a square setup..

Pretty sure the 788s are 29 front/40 rear, like the 437s. I suspect a 265/35-19 square setup would work. My concern is that a 275/35-19 in front would be too tall. Right now, there don’t seem to be any 30-series 200tw tires available in a 19. 😢

Has anyone ran 265 35 18 front and 275 40 18 rear? Would this be a problem? Only reason I ask is I have these two pairs of tires (NT01) available.

In that case I may just purchase a separate set of wheels (apex?) for track use. In that case - what would be the best wheel width and offset/tire size combo which maximizes tire width but keeps it a square setup and doesn't rub? What size spacers would be required? I guess it's a bit uncharted at the moment since the (USA) M2C guys are stuck with 19's unless they change brakes. The extra power of the s55 will need as much meat as it can get.
Definitely running re71 whatever the answer (unless the tire size doesn't exist)

I don’t know that Apex makes anything that will fit over the M2C’s front brakes *and* is available in an offset that will work at both ends of the car.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all the great information. On a bone stock suspension with stock wheels what's the largest size tire you can run in the back without rubbing? (that is closest to OEM size and not too wide for the wheel) Is 295 the limit or would a 305 work?

Appreciate it
Chris

I'm curious as well thanks.

For 19 437m and for 18 513m.

I’ve heard of guys running 305s, even tho that’s not ideal on a 10” wheel.

I'm thinking running the following setup. Currently lowered on KW HAS (1.2" drop in the front and back)

19x9 +20
19x10 +35

What is the max rubber I can fit (thinking 265/30/19 and 295/30/19). Will this setup fit and can I go wider. Want it to be as flush as possible with no rub. Would love to get everyone's thoughts. Thanks l!

I think the rear will rub the fender without more in board offset. Only one way to find out!

I'm running 265/35R19 and 285/35R19 in the back. Was just wondering what tire pressures you all run?

Pressure is very tire dependent. Most tires like the 71R like below 36psi hot, whereas the Trofeo likes 38-39psi.

what are the largest tire sizes for front and rear that are still optimal for the OEM wheel range and do not rub?

I really want 100% no rub even under extreme compression, Ive read the posts in the thread but still seems a little inconclusive.
