Yea wiring was an issue for me too. None of the mirror tap prongs fit tightly into the adapter. The mirror tap consistently failed to register any voltage on the volt meter. After a frustrating hour, ended up stripping the brown/green 12 volt wire going to the mirror and cutting the mirror tap prong in half to expose the wire. Finally soldered the wire to the exposed 12 volt wire and everything works perfectly with consistent power.

The MirrorTap is just a quick-and-dirty hack to make it easier for installers to route power.
Better to power your detector from a source that is designed to handle bigger loads.
No safety factor if you're loading up that tiny 5A fuse.

Going to mount my V1 soon, but haven't purchased the separate mirror tap wires as some folks appear to be getting for various radar detectors.

Are folks still having issues with intermittent power connections to the mirror? I tapped into the sunroof motor in my X5 and did the same for my E90 & E46. No sunroof to tap into now...

I have previously connected my 330i and 435i using a blendmount mirror tap however I am having trouble with my ///M2. I have already snapped one connector pin and I am awaiting delivery of another mirror tap. Has anyone had success in removing the mirror power plug to make inserting the pins easier? If so, how?

Do you have the Exec pack? I haven't looked closely at cars with/without it side by side, but Exec pack includes the camera behind the mirror, so I'm guessing Exec pack has a different housing than the standard / no-camera setup...

Getting my car Saturday, mine has Exec...

Did this today with my 2018 M2 with exec package, thanks for posting the instruction link, very helpful. Works great so far. Was pretty quick just a bit of a pain getting that connector unhooked and one of the prongs was hard to get fully seated but eventually did. I had the 0.8 15ft cord that was the standard kit for the M2 on their website.

I have an 18 M2 DCT and purchased the blendmount and mirrortap on their site, specifically for this car. However, I was unable to use the large connector behind the mirror as I was getting intermittent power, if I wiggled or push the connector it would power on but as soon as I let go it would stop power to my RD (used the smaller higher connector for the rain sensor but this does turn off when I turn the car off and have to manually unplug my RD so not ideal)

Which connector did you use? Any issues?
