I would definitely take the 4-door version. I just tend to prefer 4-door BMWs. Let's make that render a reality please.

If they made a 5-door hatchback "M2" (or would that be a 1M part 2?) i would 1000% buy one as a 2nd family car. I don't know why they don't make one using the 1-series as a base!?

Oh and bring that to the USA!!! hell just bring a base 1-series 5-door hatchback to the US for all i care!!
Someone did this at one time - it was a really good rendering too, and is on here somewhere.

If they made a 1M 5 door, then it would be sitting next to the Cayman. Or potentially the M2GC
seriously....if they made a 1M 5-door I would own two 1Ms!!

there was a time when there was a rumour flying around...not sure where it went.

I always though the back end of the 2er was awkward, mostly because of the tail light shape didnt flow very well... until I saw this photoshop hatch/shooting brake... Now that is a sexy rear end.

Now a 5 door hatch M2 would be my "go to" for an over the top fun commuter.

3) buy an m3 or m4.

The hatch and shooting brake are my favorite of these mock up pics.

I should have specified that I was being sarcastic. There was an abundance of mirror comments when it was first debuted, so I figured I would take a jab at that.

I agree however I think your M4 Vert is the cats meow in the BMW family when it comes to Verts.

The 2er has a great face, and a flat ass.

No comparison to the 1er's rear that is so sexy by comparison.

The shooter looks good but would have a limited market as noted above.

However, the M2 sedan would be a big seller based only on the number of 4-door S3 and CLA45 running around in my neighbourhood

I think the market for 35+ males with two kids that want an M2 (a car that the wife can also live with) is huge.

I'd like the sedan so my kids can get in back easier. It also makes it easier to load my track tires in the back seat for DE events (like I've been doing with my e36 m3/4/5 for the last 14 years).

The shooting brake render that turns the new M2 into a present-day M Coupe is drop dead gorgeous! To me, the size and look of the new M2 looks better as a hatch-type vehicle than a traditional coupe, especially since we don't get 3-door BMW's in the US.
