LiquiMoly Octane Plus

Anyone tried one of these on our cars? If yes, what do you think of it?

So I got excited and filled a 150mL can of the booster with a full tank of 98RON fuel (as recommended)

Logged a 3rd to 5th WOT pull and saw 3 "knock detected" instances at WOT.

How bad/harmful is this? Any feedback?

I'm confused because what I understand is that boosting your Octane should actually prevent knocking.

Your timing isn't perfect but by no means is it bad. You could try a different booster like boostane and see if its cleans up. Are you on 1 step colder spark plugs?

I use to use this product in the UK.

Every time I come back to Australia I bring a case over with me as I swear by it and can't get it in Australia.

It's different as it's more than just an octane booster.

Used it on an M2?
Any logs with and without it? To compare timing

I don't know much about spark plugs but I checked one of them today. Does this look ok or due replacement? And do you think its orange because of the additive? Given I only had one tank of the fuel with a can of this booster

Octane booster causes this orange deposit, and it causes it EVERYWHERE! Inside of your turbo, catalytic converter and exhaust right to the tips eventually.

There are people who think this is a bad thing, and others that have driven for thousands of miles with booster and never had any bad side effects (besides orange everywhere).

Me personally... I’ve not used octane booster containing MMT, and instead use either E85 mix (in the past), or methanol (currently).

You have to admit that it’s shocking that it does that much after only a single tank!

Yeah, it's the MMT causing the orange buildup. Pretty much all octane booster uses it to suspend their formula.

Boostane seems to have the best reviews, I plan on running some on my next track day running the BM3 Stage 2 Racegas tune.
