Milltek race fitted - ASD spoils it..
Had the Milltek race (OPF back system) installed today.
Whilst it sounds very good (but not as loud as I’d like, but I’m not wanting to remove the OPF’s) I think the ASD spoils it somewhat. Is there anywhere in the UK /EU that sells the harness? Postage from the US to UK is almost as much as the unit itself. |

I would be easiest to code it off using BimmerCode app for the iphone / Android and a Wifi OBD dongle. Its really very very easy.
Don't be intimidated by it. Thats how I got rid of the ASD. And the Bimmercode app remembers your previous settings so you can always go back.

I used Bimmercode to code off my ASD also.

Bimmercode can be used to turn off ASD?
That’s all I want to do. £40GBP! Cheaper than anything else I’ve seen. https://www.carfeature.de/en/hifi-na...d-bypass-cable Last edited by Flange; 12-09-2019 at 05:23 PM.. |

Just fitted the ASD bypass.
Pretty disappointed with the sound if I’m honest. The engine is devoid of anything interesting and for some reason even the Milltek sounds muted. Really annoying, as I just don’t want to bugger my warranty by removing the OPFs. Can’t live with this - car will be for sale before long...! |

The main problem is the OPFs, it is not the fault of the engine or the Milltek.

Yeah, I know that....just getting pissed off at BMW for taking some of the joy out of M cars.
Think I’ll reinstall the ASD and look at the Milltek opf replacement pipes. I can see the benefits of ASD removal for US cars and those without opf’s, but it just doesn’t work on the EU cars. |

Did you try to let the valves open with bimmercode ?
I have the Milltek race on my opf car and i have the same problem.... i would like more sound.... The only real good solution is to remove opf. Nothing else... i’m waiting for a good solution without remap. For the moment it’s not easy. |

Doughboy on here had the Milltek opf replacement pipes with hi flow cats and had no issues without a remap. I certainly don’t want to go down the remap route either. |

I’m kind of hoping mine will also be an old DME - car was registered Dec 2018 so probably built around Oct 18.
If I had to remap to remove the OPF’s, I assume the engine warranty would be void. Don’t think I’m as brave as those that remap! Last edited by Flange; 12-29-2019 at 03:57 PM.. |

There are other solutions for OPF delete coming to the market which you don’t need to change the OEM map, although it will still have warranty implications.

I didn't want to touch the DME for guarantee reasons too and this option is completely reversible. Just wait until Alexander finish the development and release a version |
