On the one hand I'm thankful BMW will still produce such a car.

But on the flipside, it's an M division product. It should be built in the homeland. The biggest blow is no more Euro delivery.

I've always wanted to make that trip but BMW doesn't make anything that piques my interest besides this car. I guess it was never meant to be.

I wonder if they will ship to back to Germany for Euro delivery lol. Or maybe they'll do a performance center delivery in the USA.

Only issue is I hope that the build quality will be on par to the build quality in Germany, there is always a little issue when production starts in a new location and employees need to get used to building a certain product. Muscle memory I guess.

But the good thing like others have said is faster delivery.

Haha that would apply probably everywhere on Fridays when everyone is tired, and Mondays when everyone is lazy. My M2 may have been built on a Tuesday because there are some small naggling issues like the passenger door requiring more force to close.

If I can't do a European Delivery with BMW on my next M Car then I guess I'll do one with Porsche instead...

How sad is that ⁉️

It's all due to this one multi-language-cross culture word: "greed."

100%...

It comes down to over estimating future earnings targets and later having to do things at all costs to meet them.

Bmw already has only 2 core platforms

Outsourcing manufacturing to other countries

Focusing on the Chinese markets that is already showing slowed growth

FWIW, it's still not quite Toyota which spends 0 money on engine and tranny developments and cant develop their own sports car whilst being the largest car manufacturer in the world.

That's why I'm planning ED on an M2C next summer. Better get the experience while we can!

Agreed, Euro delivery is such a fun experience, luckily other brands do it as well. Definitely something you have to do once in your lifetime!

I went with my father to Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen for the pickup of his 981 Boxster back in 2013, had an awesome time. Although interestingly, while Zuffenhausen (911 and Cayman/Boxster are made there) offers factory tours, the other location Leipzig (where the Cayenne, Macan and Panamera are made), offer a chance to drive a similarly spec-ed vehicle (to the one you purchased) on their on-site track. I'm surprised they don't have that in Zuffenhausen for their actual sports cars!

Oh my lord. Made in Germany F87 will go down as legend! But if it's really good in handling I wouldn't mind buying a new one.

That sucks. No concerns about QC or getting a bad car, but I will absolutely not be buying one out of principle. Don't care how fast or nice these cars are. Very unfortunate.
