Who here would install those parts after opening the box and seeing that? No one. I wouldn't, even if I had a track day the next day and would have to wait another 6 months for an install appointment.

All it would have taken is one phone call to ECS, followed with an email or text w/pictures and at most 1 hour to find out ECS' recommended options. Any longer than that, and the only option would be send me a return label and throw the crap into my trunk.

If this is followed with well my stock suspension was off before I opened the box and saw this sh*t show, I call BS or sorry to say the OP is an idiot.
The problem is that they sold it as NEW parts packaged by a monkey.

100% agree something isn't adding up here. There is no way that wouldn't have been sent rright back by anyone expecting new parts.

That was NOT a PACKING problem. That was a USED problem.

It doesn't matter why the OP was sent previously used, installed and improperly package kit. Sh*t happens. What matters is how the seller attempted to fix the problem.

Let's see how that day possibly went...

OP: Hi, ECS I opened my package and the parts appear to be used and previously installed, in fact some parts are pretty beat up more than from improper packing.

ECS: Can you send me a picture(s)

OP: Sure

ECS: Hummm that certainly doesn't look right.

OP: I agree

ECS: I'll create an RMA and send you a return label

OP: Oh...umm...but I already installed them...

ECS: Ok, (thinking to themselves...weird) How can I help?

OP: How about a discount???

ECS: Ummm...let me check w/my manager and I'll call you back

Everything omasou is saying is spot on.
Why, in any right mind, would anyone expecting new parts just say ‘fuck it’ and install parts that looked even the least bit used.
If this is truly just an impatience issue, then OP has learned an expensive lesson here.

You don't know how these were previously abused. Obviously these were used when shipped so taking back a used part should not be a big deal for ecs. I would see if they will take them back if you remove them now. Since they will have to come off to be rebuilt at some point I would just remove them and swap for new ones if ecs is willing. If these have been as beat up as they look you may be removing them in six months anyway. At least if you can go the swap route you know how they have been used and no damage.

Wow, that didn't take long. No reason to expose your ugly and start calling me names. Nice. A return was obviouly the preferred response and yes, was offered, but they didn't look road used. They looked like they were a display or something. If this was a carbon hood or something visible I would have made a different decision. I was comfortable making the situation work for both of us and to just get the car done. Had faith in the products state and being able to clean up the shipping damage. Like I expected, they work well. Was just hoping the vendor and I could work out credit or something to make me feel better about thier error.

I also should have opened everything before the appointment. Just too comfortable buying from the big vendor and trust that everything is good. That's on me.

The main thing I would be concerned about if they have not been used is the damage to the threads. Has the car been corner balanced? If it has and you had no issues then take the discount offer and move on. You will spend more money taking them off than it is probably worth if the part functions correctly. Unless you plan to show the car in a way that the damage can be seen it is going to be hidden.

Hope it all works out well for you. If it is just wear and tear from a display unit, then no harm done. My unhappiness falls on the company that thinks it's ok to pass off equimpent of this state as NEW and not in NEW packaging.
Displayed items are ok to sell, but it should be marked discounted "display unit"

Do you have some type of relationship with ECS?

So a business receives an order & full payment for some 'new' not inexpensive equipment that with use will deteriorate and in time require servicing (ie more expense)

In response to that order ECS ship items that are used, have previously been installed, ship them with virtually none of the original packaging (those Ohlins come in 2 boxes with plenty of protective packaging inside) and thats OK?

On what planet is that NOT an ECS Customer Service issue? In fact it's much worse than that, it's hard to imagine their business is so incompetent that they were ignorant to what they were doing, much more likely it was deliberately deceptive. After reading the FB page linked earlier here it looks like this is par for ECS, that the FB page is still there for public access would suggest what is alleged there is reasonably true.

Yes it was a foolish decision by the OP to install them but that doesn't excuse what could be described as deceptive/fraudulent business conduct.

Normally I would agree that's it's more important as to how a business responds to their mistakes, but this isn't an error or mistake.

Not going to waste my time reading the rant of a disgruntleted former employee on social media and take it as truth. There are always two sides to every story. What I did read didn’t make much sense. Will Turner had his business for many years before ECS purchased it, so that part of the store didn’t make much sense.

Either way, if we are to believe ECS’ page that I posted. They don’t stock Ohlins and orders are drop shipped by the manufacture. If that was the case here then shame on Ohlins.

If by some chance ECS did have a previous return and did decide to ship it as shown. Who in their right mind would install it, then ask for consideration after the fact and then come to a public forum and ask if they received proper compensation?

Never said that anything you said wasn't true. Only saying your "side" of the story is written in a way to benefit the series of events as you see them.

End of day. You purchased something. You weren't happy w/it but still decided to use it, then asked the vendor for compensation. At that point, you're lucky they gave you $1 back.

Learn from your mistakes or your destined to repeat them.

Perhaps the installer can provide some insight?

Possibly packaged this way on purpose, so the customer would think they got dinged up in transport, to cover up them being used goods??
