Is that real? It's so hard to believe that you'd spin a run-in bearing that's lubed just from a brief, dry start. Generally speaking, bearings will take a lot of heat before they will stick enough to spin. But, BMWs definitely seem to have more issues with bearings than my American iron.

I'm excited to own a BMW that doesn't have a lot of known failure modes. Love seeing these high mileage cars!

Honestly, the issue isn’t that common and because of that it is hard to get data to say the exact cause or if it is even worth worrying about

What kind of oil and interval do you use? I would not be too unhappy with that after 110k.

Sorry, re-read I used a double negative there, could have been more clear. They don't look that bad for 110k for a BMW. For a Toyota or Honda I would be concerned.

First post for me on this forum and hello to all the M2 lovers here.

I just picked up a 2017 OG M2 in AW ... with 85,000 miles on it (138k kilometers).. and I'm wondering if I made the right choice.

I'd do full fluid change, spark plugs, leave injectors and coils at the end.
Then floor gas pedal into the engine bay everyday. LOL.
If something else need to replace, you will definitely know while driving.

No major things. List of issues and issues and regular maintenance below:

-tailights replaced under warranty within first 2 years
-differetial seal replaced under warranty
-rear amplifier started to get wet due to in-leak but there is a kit protect it seem that I managed to save it
-shaft on turbo EWG tightened and calibrated due failure with boost limits, otherwise turbo is without problem no smoke, squeal etc.
-oil and filter changed each 10 000km
-spark plugs replaced each 60 000km
-preventative replacement of coil plugs at 175 000km
-serpentine belt started to squeal at roughly 150 000km, complete kit with tensioner replaced at 175 000km (should have done it earlier, risky thing)
-MT and diff oil each 50 000km
-two sets of front brake pads, original discs

Thats really it, low cost car which holds it value greatly.
