Back in a BMW

Took delivery of my 21 M2C 6MT today, its HS with black/orange stiching and moonroof. Pics to follow

Quick questions

1. How to do you take out the yellow sticker saying " vehicle is equipped with advanced air bags etc" do i just pull it , will it rip it?

2. I dont see any storage compartment for sunglasses?

3. The wireless charge is a joke, can i keep stuff over it like my usb charger etc, is it possible to take it out and use it for storage inside. Is the power on always , any issues if i keep my usb charger with wires on top of it?

Just drove from dealership to home and had no seat time yet but so far love the car and HS color and the way it drives

Thanks

Congrats on the new car! Hopefully i can answer some questions.

1. I believe its a vinyl sticker and should come off in just one piece
2. There isnt any storage on the roof like in some cars, i believe the armrest or glove compartment is your best bet.

3. The wireless charger is garbage. I do find that i'm able to prop my phone above it and its just fine while keeping it plugged in. Currently i use it to hold my tissue box lol.

Awesome spec

1. I have no idea
2. There is no storage compartment for sunglasses. I keep mind in front of the cup holders along with my mask (Christ, i sound like Batman).
3. You should be fine keeping stuff in there. I keep my garage door opener in there. The only way for it to turn on is when you move the clasp rearward like you're putting your phone in and then put a phone in there or anything with a Qi charger. It's total crap, i have never used it.

For the stickers, I saw a post where someone took the sunshades off and soaked them in alcohol or some similar process. It seemed fairly involved which makes me think they won't just peel off

1. Tons of threads on this: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1308214

Alternative is to buy new visors, which I did: https://ind-distribution.com/product...-sun-visor-set

3. You can remove the charger and replace with a BMW OE rubber mat, I haven't done this yet but plan to: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=18737915

The mat is https://www.amazon.com/BMW-Genuine-C.../dp/B06Y4W9XSF (BMW part number 51-16-9-227-902)

It is supposed to detach with a firm pull. Mine didn't detach as designed, and I was left with a small piece that required the detailer at the Performance Center to remove with a nylon wrapped, non-scratching tweezer. I imagine your dealer has a similar tool if you also have bad luck.

Drove 20 miles this evening and suspension is pretty nice, not as firm to be uncomfortable. I wish they made the car little less shorter in height , it would have looked better. The shifter is great and so is the clutch , best clutch i have used till now.

I am little disappointed on how the top of the car looks, roof is not flat and makes the car look taller, noticed this in the garage, could not make out when parked outside. I love how the car looks overall but the roof is kind of odd, anyone noticed that and feel the same way

btw what was Bmw thinking about putting silver wheel weights on a black wheel ?

Boss

As I am sure you recognize, even the 'black' 788 wheel option is bicolored and mostly silver/grey . . . at least most of the exposed wheel (e.g., spokes) are mostly silver/grey. Not a fan at all, which is I had mine redone in the powder coat satin black.

Not sure about the balancing weights? My stock weights were black as I recall.

1. I just pulled mine off. I've got a tiny bit left stuck in the dash that doesn't bother me.

2. I either use the area forward of the cupholders for sunglasses or the front most section of the door pocket. My mask is there as well.

3. I've never used the wireless charger. I do keep a USB cable in the console for an iPod connection, and plug the phone in there if needed.

Congrats, you'll enjoy the car as we all do.
PS the roof was probably shaped to give decent headroom. I've never thought it to be an odd shape but it's probably more curved than other BMWs given its smaller size.

yes i dont like the bicolored wheels and will get them powdercoated down the line, my wheels weights are silver, although its in the inner wheel area they look very odd

Congrats on your new M2.
You’re going to need some time getting used to the proportions of our chubby little bulldog, especially coming from a Vette.
It took me a while getting used to the tall green house.
My old car was a 6th gen Camaro.

As you may have noticed, the refinement in these cars is on a different level. Something you can’t easily find in GM products.
Enjoy your new ride!

Sorry, didn’t pay attention to the title : ‘back’ in a BMW.
So you know the German quality.
One thing I can suggest would be to wrap the roof in black STEK PPF.
It’ll make the car look sleeker.

Yes had 2 M cars before and a e92 335

Good idea on the wrap , why not vinyl 3M wrap?

Did you drive the car before purchasing? Curious because I ended up just moving forward without a test drive. Figured I would love the car regardless.

Congrats! For me the roof line looks so awesome, and pairs really nicely with the beautiful big hips and overall aggressive stance of the beast

Vinyl wrap would be cheaper, but less durable/not much paint protection.
I was surprised how much stone/debris get thrown on the front roof, right above the windshield.
But I do a LOT of interstate driving. YMMV
