Im about to change my manual transmission and rear differential for my 2018 OG M2 sometime this month. The links on newtis is no longer working so I can't actually see the correct fluid that I need. I also do 1-3 track days a year. What fluid is correct? Oem would be good for occasional track days right?
TIA

Manual Transmission oil: BMW OEM MTF-LT5 or Redline DCTF 1.6 liter

Rear Diff: MSP/A. One bottle

Yes fine for track days. First change or now second after the first free service?

Mtf lt5 for the transmission or a low viscosity DCT fluid that is mtf- lt5 approved so redline dctf or motul multi dctf (redline is better imo), for the diff I would only use OEM fluids: MSP/A if you can get it, saf-xj other wise(in the US its most likely going to be SAF-XJ). Make sure it's saf-xj and not saf +FM.

You will need 1L of diff oil, and 2L of transmission oil (you will use much less than this but 1L is insufficient)

OEM fluids are fine for 1-3 track days, you'll just need to lower the change intervals.

Does it require to replace the drain and fill plugs for both manual transmission and differential? Or just the drain plug on differential?

Just the diff plugs (fill and drain) need to be replaced because the o-rings are likely to be damaged after the use.

The manual transmission doesn't utilize o-rings or even a washer (super strange), and it's not a torque to yield fastener so it's good for reuse.

Why they needed to change the whole bolt instead of just the o-rings I don't know.

Is the drain plug same as the fill plug?

It's because it's a TTY bolt, no? Maybe a softer bolt so that there is less chance of stripping what it's going into?

The diff drain and fill aren't tty, it's also going into an aluminum diff cover plate, I'm pretty sure it's aluminum.

On a thread about trans and diff fluid, this seems - tangential?

Just did my MTF and rear diff today, when I was filling the rear diff I noticed it didn't overflow but I filled it with the whole bottle. Any inputs?
Also, what's that interval of drain and flush of our transmission? Thanks in advance

Yeah there is just enough to exactly fill the diff, when I put in 1L it barely trickled out. So as long as you put in the entire 1L bottle it is fine, I think bmw should sell 1,050mL or 1100mL so there is a bit extra so it will over flow but they don't.

There is no set interval for the transmission because bmw thinks it is a life time fill - which is total nonsense. So I generally do it in sync with the diff - every 4 years or ~50,000km whatever comes first (you can do a UOA to get more accurate numbers but this is what I do, factoring in that maintainece is cheap and these parts are not, and the fact that these diffs are not the most bullet proof thing ever and are known to fail it would be best to lower the oil change interval down to these numbers vs. what bmw recommends).

Thank you sir again!

Is this transmission need to be drain and flush too at some point?

Yes, didn't you ask about the transmission? My reply was in regards to both the transmission and the differential. I would do both at the same time.
