M2C Order Placed Tonight!!

Very excited to place the order for my new M2C, with expected delivery around end of July. Per previous posts, was trying to decide between this and the new G8X platform, but just love everything about the current gen M2.

My spec: Hockenheim/exec/6spd/slicktop/blue stiching/dark forged wheels.

Looking forward to learning more from you guys!!

You made the right the choice, new G8x is very nice. it has a lot of tech and the interior is far better, and objectively it's faster. However it's just not as exciting of a car. The m2c is more fun, and it looks better.

Congrats! I just put in an order for almost the exact same spec (Bi color wheel +orange stitching) this afternoon as well! Already got the production number and everything.

That is great news! When is your dealership telling you to expect delivery?

Consider PCD, especially if you have not done so before. I've done PCD for 5 of my 7 BMWs, and I wish had known about it for the first 2.

Thanks for the mention on BMW performance center delivery, I'm trying to change mine now. My sleezy sale guy was trying to charge me $700 for "courtesy" delivery at my local dealer. ( ordered from TX, live in PA)
I have 2 weeks till start of production as of today! So should be plenty of time to change it up.

Most dealerships are awful.

Just do pcd and drive it home. I'd rather never meet a salesman, but I did have a great experience with my CA on my M2 purchase.

But 99% of BMW salesman I came across in my search completely turned me off from buying a BMW.

People working at PCD are great though. Totally worth it.

I struggled with my decision too, but ultimately chose the M2C. There was one word that others on this forum shared with me that pushed me over the edge, and it was 'Tossable'. If fun is what you are after, maybe that word will help you too.

They didn't say. They only said that production is supposed to begin in June for this allocation, and it would take 1-2 months for it to arrive after that.

That will be one of the last F87s made.

Maybe if you're lucky they'll throw a bunch of extra parts lying around in the trunk ;-)

Congrats! Excellent choice. I am biased though since I have the same spec going down the line May 18...hopefully as they keep moving the goal posts on mine. Waiting is the hard part!

Thanks and congrats on yours as well! Yes I’m told it’s going to be mid July but I’m expecting August. A few years ago I ordered an F80 M3 and the wait was excruciating

First world problems, I know.

You have 4-5 more years to get a G80.

Get the F87 in manual.

I'd want LCI G80 w/ 10% off, another reason to wait.

Future generations will hopefully get a tan or red interior option. You also get to see what the nxt gen M2 will look like by then and that actually might be the car to get.

I kept my order for M2C that I’m buying outright.

1 - I’m a bit nervous to buy first year of G80

2 - G80: due to a LOT of tech I don’t think it makes sense to purchase it but lease has such a low residual and high interest rate that it’s a suicidal to get one in any case.

3 - Value: I might trade M2C towards G80 LCI or just get 992 911 C2 in 2 years. I feel that F87 will go down the same way 1M had.

I was deciding between the two as well, but the decision is pretty easy if you think about it. These were my thoughts.

G80 Pros:
-Faster
-Interior and tech is way better

G80 cons:
-front end is meh, don't hate it but not really happy about it
-heavy
-too refined/smooth, no drama
-fast but in a boring way fast
-more expensive, for the same cost I could add a lot of things to M2c to make it even more unique

M2c Pros:
-Looks perfect, all proportions are perfect
-tossable, nimble, playful
-Cost: I was able to get PPF/ceramic, m performance wheels, after market exhaust/midpipe, and some carbon bits and be at the same price as the G80 6MT
-It's the right size

M2c Cons:
-interior is pretty bland and lacking tech
-de tuned S55 engine vs S58 in G80, however you can make up some of that difference with performance mods from the money saved
