Hell yes for seat heating in CS. I was afraid that would not be available with those seats. Need that for tracking in the winter :P

Lol at retaining CD player.

The M2 CS test mule on display in Brussels featured the M4 CS airco (simplified compared to the one of the M2 Competition), as also shown in the M2 CS press materials.

Heated seats yes, but no lumbar support in the M2 CS front seats.

It's possible there might be a regional difference between in standard equipment specs for the same vehicles.

Which is just confusing but plausible.

I don't think anyone really knows for sure. Only speculation from various SAs.

Anyone over it already with the long drawn out reveal and now the long wait for US configurator and ordering to start? 😂. I'm surprised in some European countries you can already confirm your order! While the largest M market is left out in the dark.

I've started to cheat on the M2 and looked at other cars. In fact, I've even looked at the 2020 Mazda Miata (looks like loads of fun all while staying well within the speed limit)...have I gone mad...

I'm a Miata fan. It's hard to have more fun within city limits. $6k can get you new suspension, wheels/tire, and bbk for the full on go-kart feel. Cheap consumables, and slow nature make it a hoot to beat on track without risking much.

Has BMW established the M2CS as a dedicated track car? What percentage of future M2CS owners intend to use the car on a track?

F**k the track. It's not the reality or intended use - per BMW themselves - for the M2C. M2CS?

When track interests are pursued seriously (e.g., competitive interests), I have yet to see any such 'tracker' indicate they run their M2C stock. So, it might very well be a good base platform to 'build upon,' but not it's intended or common application.

I would be interested to know BMW's statement regarding the M2CS and it's intended use? Do they indicate it's not intended for track use, like the M2C? I seriously doubt a few more hp, carbon fiber bits and adaptive suspension make it any more track-intended than the M2C.

It just f**ks every discussion up when we talk about track performance of a stock car when the car is not intended for the track, nor ever intended to be used on a track by the majority of owners.

Rant over.

Dave is right. It always seems like the US is the last to get pricing, allocations, etc.

Does anyone know if March start of production includes all areas of the world including US?

I have a sneaking suspicion that the US is going to start later. There was a comment somewhere verbal or written that referenced 3rd quarter deliveries for the US. Seems odd if production is starting in March. I'm thinking US won't start getting deliveries until sometime June to September. I assume BMW has to run these through the M2 comp production line. This might mean building them in region specific batches. I believe someone commented that German deliveries in April/May. Push through all RHD, and the LHD?

Sounds plausible. Would that mean US dealers will have some sort of clue by around Feb/March timeframe?

It now looks like by the time this CS arrives in the US, in a little more than 2+ years the new M2 will be arriving prolly with the S58.

And whomever buys this over-hyped - overpriced CS will be like - wtf was I thinking.

But, between now and then, you could die. So, you know, sometimes it makes sense to buy now rather than later.

I used to always hold off on consumer purchases, because every new model year, the capabilities would go through the roof. And pretty soon, I found myself using an IBM Selectric in 1992, and wondering why I couldn't get on that new-fangled thing everyone was talking about, called the Internet.

Nowadays, I always think to myself, "If I hold off till 2040, we'll all be uploaded into the singularity... or I could just go ahead and buy the iPad now."

It will be interesting to see what they do to separate the next gen M2/M4. I suspect a stock CS would likely be competitive against the next gen M2 base. Technologically the CS will likely lack a lot when they are compared.

My heart says this, but my head says wait. I still rock a U2 iPod for use at the gym from 2004 which requires wired headphones. Yeah, I'm that guy and IDGAF. I've converted its hard drive to all flash storage with 512GB to last another decade or so and all my music is lossless, because why the fuck not.

I'm holding out for the G87 as my next car. I'll likely have my dreams shattered when BMW ends up putting the B58 in it instead of the S58. At that point I'll and say you were right, but until then I'm fine with the old M2 and my iPod.

Next generation M2 G Series does not go into production until December 2022, so it won't be on the roads until early 2023 at the earliest. So 3 years away which is awhile.

A lot of people who buy the CS would probably wait for the G87 M2 CS to upgrade. If one buys the F87 CS and gets a G87 M2 Base, then one may be in for disappointment since like you said, the F87 CS will probably be close to equivalent to the G87 M2 Base.

And also

1M more organic than F87 M2, which will be more organic than the G87, which will be more organic than i87. Gotta jump in somewhere before I'm just riding in the back.

... Just pulled the front seats from my i87 to shave some weight. Down to 4100 lbs...... Those i87 guys are idiots, it's F87 or bust. I wouldn't be caught dead in an i87.

Technology moves so quickly nowadays that the built-in obsolescence in not even intentional, it's just how quickly the resourceful new technology becomes available that it inadvertently pushes out the old. It's just so difficult and expensive to it keep up with the latest.

I seen this with TVs, for instance; just a few years ago when the 1080p format became mandatory, LED TVs was all the rage and it got the job done.
Then OLED became the new thing, now OLED is feeling the heat coming from Micro-LEDs.

Point being, you may as well jump abroad and try to be contented with what's available; as there is always going to be something subjectively better.

BTW, when I was my early teens and poor, I couldn't afford a new computer but I was so intrigued with this new thing call the internet myself.

So my dumbass saved up all my pennies and bought a old IBM computer from a thrift shop, not knowing that it was running on MS-DOS, so it couldn't support a modem for dial-up internet. So I just used it to play Solitaire.

If I had the internet, I would I known that.
