Just replaced my stock Conti Sport Contact 3 tires @~20K miles with Michelin Pilot Sport 4's. The Conti's were well worn but I also noted some light cupping on the inside edge on both of the front tires.
I don't recall feeling a vibration as I was driving but the Conti's were noisy. Any thoughts as to the cause of the cupping? TIA! |

Conti's are crap
How many miles? I'd get an alignment ASAP If there is a real problem the alignment will clarify what the problem is

Just got the car back from alignment. According to the tech, the cupping (feathering) was caused by excessive toe in on the right front.
This coupled with the typical negative camber on an M2 was enough to cause the issue. Appears I haven't been driving it hard enough on the twisties. Long highway trips will do that I guess. |

I only got 10,000 miles on my original Contis after uneven wear and excessive noise. Replaced them with 4Ss.
