If I were you, I would call BMWNA to check why The Vin is invalid

Thanks for the tip, but even with all caps I get the invalid VIN message. I called customer relations and they said it wasn't showing a recall notice, but will be processed again once it gets to the port in US.

Dropped my M2 off today...let's see how long it takes. Got a 230i vert as loaner and they'll tint my windows as a courtesy. Finance manager also said there will some sort of compensation from BMWNA

Mine finally shows under the recall. It goes in Tuesday for the 1200 mile service. We'll see what they say.

That's quite a bit, also surprised you dropped it off unless they somehow have parts

Personally I'm not dropping mine off until I get a call. I checked my VIN and it shows the recall and it also showed when I had my 1200 mile. Confused as to why the originally poster would drop it off, unless he got a call and they had the parts already.

I believe he picked up the car AFTER the recall/stop sale notice; hence the dealership is probably in some sort of trouble for selling anyways..

Gotcha, that makes all the sense in the world then.

It reminds me of a story my dealer told me. Customer orders new 5 series, car comes in and they deliver. About 2 weeks later corporate calls and says "we need that car back, it's a European spec, and we can't legally sell it in the US". They told them it was sold, so BMW gave the customer the choice of any model he wanted in exchange.

If I remember correctly the guy ended up with a fully loaded 7 series.

Story was told to me about 20 years ago when I bought my 330ci, no idea when it actually happened. Might have been early 90's when I'm sure tracking might not have been as great.

Bought it May 4th. Got a call from my dealer that following tuesday about they can't select the car as delivered. I kept it for a couple weeks until BMW said i have to bring it back since it's a liability and technically it's not even my car. Finance paperwork couldn't get processed either because of the stop sale which also stopped the registration process and i can't even drive it right now

Technically i could walk away free and clear after a 914 mile test drive since there is no paperwork saying i bought it. NOT going to do that, but it would be an option
