M2 leaked! Photos and specs!

M Mirrors are a huge characteristic of an M car. Call me picky but the M mirrors on my E90 are one of my favorite attributes.

Still an aggressive nimble car just feel the M division could've done them, wouldn't have made much of a difference on the price.

I guess we won't know until BMW releases the actual official pics.There is very little wheel gap in these pics.Looks fantastic.

Looks like a BMW render to me.

Front end ain't pretty and the rear "vents"... Uh uh. I expected a bit more to be honest.

If it is true a it no M mirrors it is a big disappointment for me.

Many people have said its not a deal breaker etc.. We knew there was no cf roof, no M specific engine, no M seats, and now we learn no M mirrors??? Ultimately if you add up everything it starts to matter!! Especially since the 1M had them!! There is no reason at all for the M2 not to get the mirrors. I think if bmw m does this it's a huge punch in the gut for fellow enthusiasts since it's just a simple thing to add.

Let's hope this render is off. I'm little disappointed at the render and I am number 1 on the dealer list for one.

- Extra water cooler
- 0-60 in 4.5 with 6MT, 4.3 with DCT
- More expensive than the Audi RS3

I believe they're hinting at the water cooling same as the M4 GTS, with the water injection.

But not sure if the article's got everything right. They seem wrong about the consumption and CO2.

Auto BMW's have always been more ecological/economical than manual boxes last few years. Same goes for the M3/M4 so I guess they have their figures mixed up.

Honestly, if you mix up something like that I don't think you can believe every word they say. This is basic information, easy to verify, so why get it wrong? They're in the ballpark, but sure ain't hitting a homerun.

What? The 1M didn't have a CF roof, and even less of an "M specific" engine. It used an N54 pulled straight from the 135/335 with a tune on it. While I'm not convinced this motor is going to be as potent as the N54, assuming it is...I'll certainly trade the beefed up engine for a set of mirrors any day.

So your rambling about a set of side mirrors? Yikes man. It's a driver's car...

I agree with this...it sure turns out to be nothing special. I think we were all hoping for the M characteristics (hood, mirrors, engine, etc) and non of them are present? And looks like 0-60 is at M235 level. Can we call this M240 and not M2? Disappointed

People do not worry about the mirrors. Let's do a groupbuy and I will ask around if I can do a DIY on how to fit them. Easy replacement and a nice project

How can you possibly believe that this car is not faster than the M235?? Not only are the 0-60 times quoted by bmw lower, but it has more power/more tq and is lighter, with more tire.......

We already knew there was no cf roof, m engine, and seats this is not surprise at all. Everyone knew this and I'm okay with it because it follows the 1M receipe. But 100% people on here thought there was going to be m mirrors on the car. Yes they are just mirrors but like I said If you start to add up everything and m mirrors are just another thing to add that it doesn't have it does start to matter especially since the 1M had them. There is no reason for the M2 not to have them if they are following the same receipe as the 1M which they were.

Again hope the render is off.

I just saw a post above 4.5s and 4.3dct. M235 is in the same range. 4.4 and 4.6 per bmw

What are you adding up? You can't add things up that this car was never going to get (i.e. things that 1M the 1M didn't get either).

You wouldn't trade the mirrors for the motor upgrades? You'd prefer it didn't get the M3/4 crank/pistons/IC, the closed deck block, but rather, that it got mirrors an the M235 engine + tune?

Just bolt on aftermarket mirrors of your choice. Who gives a crap?

Deciding not to purchase a $50-60k car because of side mirrors...only on a BMW forum.

Because again, the 1M got the mirrors, and no motor upgrades at all.
