What blue BMW color would you consider "special" then? Estoril, LSB, Lemans?

IMHO, while I can obviously tell that LBB is an acquired taste, I have no doubt it is special. It is similar to Atlantis Blue, which was an expensive Individual color. So yea, LBB is quite easily as special as VO.

hmmm....

when everybody else seems to be misunderstanding something the same way, the time has come to evaluate ones own understanding of that thing...

I don't care how the front bumper is bent or what exterior launch colors are available. As others said, white looks great if that's what it comes down to.
I need a stiff, light chassis and a good engine/steering rack.
If the car fails to deliver in the above categories, I'm done with it and moving on.

A special blue? Monte Carlo Blue Metallic (B05) - as released on the 2009 E92 M3 Edition and 2012-current F10 M5.

Java Green would be another colour that would be special and suit the M2.

If BMW want it to be a special colour then there isn't any reason why it shouldn't be a colour that is usually selected from the Individual range.

While Leipzig can't do Individual orders, I don't see any reason why one of the four fixed M2 colours couldn't be a colour that would usually be considered Individual but would be produced at Leipzig on a relatively mass scale.

I hope I don't come off as rude when I say: that's not the question. The question, at least to me, is whether or not the color LBB conveys an effeminate quality.
And the other cars which BMW is painting this color implies the answer is - yes. The X4, x5 and x6 are cars preferred by women (confirmation, http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/new...g-women-761218) and are offered in LBB. I don't think that's happenstance.
Believe me when I say I like women. But the car is shaping up to be visually aggressive and LBB, as the of flagship color, does not, IMO, carry that message well enough.
I reserve the right to change my mind and recant all I've said when I see it fully decked out in LBB!

I witnessed LBB on the X6M on an overcast day and it appeared teal in hue, as others have mentioned. Admittedly, I liked it, but I can understand why it would not appeal to the masses.

Agreed. I saw this color on a fleet x6m at Watkins Glen Sunday. It is a nice color but didn't seem to fit the iconic image of bmw. Reminded me of a 90s Saturn color.

It is worth noting that I only caught a quick glance, but this seems to fit the bill:

Absolutely. I was at the dealership this previous Saturday and they had just taken delivery of the X5M finished in Donington Grey; it looked great, even while being soaked with rain.

I seriously can't even read this thread (and most of the M2 subforum these days) without cringing.

I hope you guys are smart enough to realize that the car the color goes on is just as important as the color itself. If that's the case, how can we even tell when the car is still covered in camo? We've seen multiple black cars and 1 white car that is full of camo. How can we tell anything?

Techno Violet from the E36 M3 still remains one of the most beloved color BMW has ever made (OK, so I might be a little bias)

So because the PT Cruiser has a similar color, does that make Techno Violet a bad color all of a sudden?

Or maybe this Porsche GT3RS is all of a sudden less special because there are other purple car out there
