Something like the E46 CSL weighing ~3200 lbs and making 400 - 410 HP would just be perfect. Just need to reduce 200 - 250 lbs from somewhere. Almost want to start a thread to list out possible weight reductions.

I believe the power seats on the M2 weigh about 65 - 70 lbs each. The seats alone should save about 50 lbs total, removing the sound deadening should shed another 40 lbs or so. 100 more to go.

Go ahead and start your thread!!

I know several things I would remove to keep weight from an M2.

1- DCT
2- power seats
3- idrive
4 - the iPad on the dash...

I'd be hugely disappointed if the CS ends up looking like this because maybe it might have a few extra ponies under the hood.

I've read the new Z4M due out 2018 will have the S55 with the full 444bhp.I'd rather this than some caged out, compromised deal...

The M3 CSL had special lightweight one-piece (I think they were 1pc, anyway) seats, so that's a possibility. The CSL did not have a roll cage though, while the E92 M3 GTS and F82 M4 GTS do, so the roll cage is up in the air, IMO.
