No idea what’s involved, but I imagine it used OEM BMW parts from another series though

More importantly how much weight do those parts add?

Wonder if we can retrofit the auto open close trunk from the 5 series?

The trunk on my corvette does this but wish the door did instead if they were going to offer that feature in general. However, the feature I would want most would be ventilated seats if I’m going to add weight. I can live without soft close doors, they seem gimmicky to me.

bimmertech offers a bunch of BMW retrofit kits like soft close, and trunk open/close and the trunk convenience open.

the dude from kies Motorsports does a bunch of tutorial install videos for them.

all of their stuff is non-M car it seems. but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I had them in my F10 and all I did was tell people to not slam the doors.

I would never spec them again, not worth the coin.

This. Had them in my F10 550, and my current F90. Never use them, and am always telling occupants not to slam the doors...lol.

I like soft close doors but wouldn’t want the added weight and complexity for my M2C.

I LOL'ed reading this.

Personally for an F87, I don't see why anyone would want soft-door; it's a performance car, not a luxury car?

As it is, I never slam my car doors anyway.
