AutoTeknic CF splash guards vs. AutomotivePassion CF arch guards?

Gents--

I'm researching parts for my soon to be made purchase and came across both of these for the front wheel section. Not a fan of CF, but even less of a fan of paint chips. (I'll get PPF put on the lower rockers as well).

The AutomotivePassion looks a bit large (in other words, more functional?), and the AutoTeknic looks almost too small to have any effect preventing rock chips?

Does anyone have experience with these one way or the other? It's tough to tell in pictures.

The AutomotivePassion: https://automotivepassion.net/produc...ch-guards-f87/

The AutoTeknic: https://ind-distribution.com/product...-splash-guards

TIA--

Those who purchased in this thread seem to like em (at first anyways). I almost pulled the trigger myself, but went with larger PPF for the rear panels. I may revisit the idea down the line.

I love mine - on stock wheels it keeps the car very clean. I recently went 265/295 and guards or not my car looks like this

People ask about them a lot in person though

Work fine to me and look pretty good. Thinking about getting the RallyFlapZ, possibly a little less cosmetic but a little more functional as they're a little bigger. I plan to get wider tires and lower offset wheels so I kind of want to get a little more protection.

Personally I recommend using double stick tape when installing. At certain speeds/wind direction I get some rattling on my driver side.

I have the Autotechnik ones and really like them. Can't say whether they actually do that good of a job preventing the front tires from throwing stuff up onto the side bodywork though, but they're discrete enough to not look out of place.

Call me silly....

I just don’t see the point of these types of things and by that I mean I have done quite a bit of driving in mine and haven’t got any damage from crap being flicked up by the front wheels.

I imagine if you were driving in gravel and similar they may be worthwhile?

Just don’t see the point

Unless of course they are just cosmetic?

I was getting rock chips on the rear fenders, up to about 4" below the rear dogleg window. I'd say it's worth it if the car ever sees the track, or you drive on gravel-infested streets like the ones we have in Colorado.

Im running the AP and they are not a cosmetic mod. You can actually hear just right off the bat every morning how there are tons of rocks hitting them. The MPSS tires are still flinging rocks at the fenders when the tires are cold.

If you haven't heard stuff sitting the side of the car from the front wheels then either you haven't driven it enough or your roads are especially clean. Around here in the northeast US, our roads are pretty good - until winter comes. Then we get undissolved salt, sometimes sand (though I avoid sanded roads) and gravel from fresh pot holes and the front tires will throw all of it into the rear fenders.

Does Autotecknic not make a rear set?

I guess if one wants to have both front and rear sets installed, only the AP version will apply...

My car has ~2500 miles and at least 10 small to medium size dings in the PPF on the rear fenders - the driver side seems to get hit harder and more often than the passenger, which I'm not really sure as to why. Thankfully have full PPF, but considering adding some front splash guards to mitigate this going forward.

I can vouch for SpeedShop, I know the owner and they have their main shop in Harrison, NJ (I think his manufacturing is done outside the US). I have the same splash guards and they both look good and work great.
