Feels great to be behind a 6MT after having DCT for the past 3 years.

Sorry about crappy garage pix, as just made it home before the heavens opened up.
How do you like your steering wheel?
I prefer over the standard wheel as it has more grip and is more comfortable in my large hands. Lol.
Besides the aesthetics, which I believe should have been standard on the Comp.

congrats!!!! looks awesome. i seriously debated alpine white because it's just so classic...and it's the only color for which i like black wheels.

i have to wait until april just for mine to begin production!
I found the HS really shines with the black wheels and will look even better with a few future CF mods.
Also the colour has a nice metallic pearl effect in direct sunlight.

my wife's vote was for HS...but ive been in love with sunset orange since the first time i saw it. i was actually about to pull the trigger on a HS 6MT on a dealer's lot until another dealer found me any allocation to order a new build SO.

the HS is pretty slick in the way is changes colors in various light conditions. congrats on the delivery!

Put on a forged carbon CS rear spoiler & 3 piece LED diffuser. Looks kinda mean without the rear spoiler

Finally got around to installing the Armaspeed CF intake I had ordered a few weeks ago..!! First off, this system is such a beaut I mean, just look at it. On top of that, their customer service is seriously impressive. Quick responses and equally fast shipping! No joke, it literally took one week between clicking order, manufacture time and then arriving at my door (by international delivery, no less!).

Will anyone ever actually see it? No, but you will 100% get hear it any time you open up the throttle. Was CF unnecessary for an intake? Probably yeah, but the quality alone is seriously unmatched. Even the individual components were wrapped with lots of care. Anyway, here are a few gratuitous shots.

Took it out for a drive while there was a break in the weather. A balmy 50°F and sunny day. I also broke 600 miles, halfway to break-in!

Also coded:
- Put back exhaust burbles...found a good compromise with Sport mode in terms of throttle response and burble frequency.
- VLD variable light distribution
- 50% halo brightness with lights on

Some things I've noticed as I get more seat time:
Torque! Waves of torque even below 5000rpm. More than sufficient for the street even at partial throttle but I'm still curious about what 5000+rpm feels like.
The shift lever definitely has a tall, rubbery, and mildly delicate feel to it. That will need to be addressed soon and hopefully the ssk remedies it.
The clutch pedal travel is way too long for my liking. Added the UCP to the shopping cart.

Warmer weather can't come soon enough!

My first use of BimmerCode today. Coded ASD off and mirrors to fold in when locking the doors. I like the pure sound. So many options. Next on the list is the startup warning on the head unit screen. Very cool.

Drove (well, took) the wheels off her!!

With the continued lockdown in the UK, I took the opportunity to do a wheels off clean of each wheel, ACF50 coating of the brake lines/ connectors and hub (surprised how it's rusted in 12 months/3k miles with no winter use!), and of course a wash and polish of the alloys too....

Third photo is the wheel hub/ face pre-ACF50 - it lifted some of the current rust and will slow further. Fourth photo shows it cleaned up and fifth the suspension arms, brake pipe / mounts etc. coated.

It's a slow job wheel by wheel but definitely worth it, as impossible to get all the gunk off the alloy body too with wheels on - damn the fiddly 788M

Ready for some serious mileage come April!

I *think* I remember reading that it was possible, but that you had to dive into the Expert Mode and change a number of values.

Could be wrong, but I "sort of" remember reading that.

Tried it for about 45 minutes yesterday and can confirm that the options were not there for blinker count. I think there may have been an update that removed it. HOWEVER, I was playing with offline mode last night and DID see the option so I'm not sure what's going on. Will try again the next time I have access to the car.

Note I'm using Bimmerlink from Android through a BT dongle (OBD Link LX).

Based in the UK here so got it from a local company called R44 performance, the LED diffuser was custom made as I want it in forged carbon.

Ceramic coated the summer setup with C5 wheel armor today. Interested to see how it performs! Also finally got my center caps from some Chinese company after waiting 2 months.

Hoping to put these on the car within a week or two, weather pending

Are those your stock tires? I'm just wondering how stretched stock 245/265 looks on 9.5/10.5 wheels. Would you say that the color is more silver or darker like gunmetal? They look great!

Yeah stock MPSS, going to burn through them for a season.
Will probably do 255/285 next year.

The color is pretty in between the two. Here's them next to HS
