Just purchased a 2017 M2 6MT. Love it. Hated not having CarPlay. Hesitant but took risk to code it per other threads on here. Wow. What a difference. and so easy.

Looks and feels like my 2020 X3M now!!! Did the ID5 to ID6, CarPlay and Map update. All three super easy with a Flash/Thumbdrive. Biggest improvement with ID5>6 was the backup camera that automatically doubled in size and added the 3D squares and the extra ‘above view’ . Nice surprise!!!!

Had a few questions during install that I got answered in minutes on a Sunday!!!!

Dont hesitate to do these upgrades if you have an OG 2016-2017 F87 M2.

Thanks for your message! I still didn't do the upgrade to mine because I was worried about breaking something. However messages like yours give me the confidence that this is safe and it will be a good option.
