OG M2 Alpine White N55 Track Build (TE37s, Pure Turbo, Team Schirmer Bits)

I have been a long term lurker and after a few years of tracking and modding my M2, I thought it would be a good idea to share my build as well as provide a platform for other track going M2s to gain some insight/inspiration for their own builds. I will try my best to update this thread as I continue to refine the setup and look to take the build further next year.

The purpose of the car was to be build to the highest of standards and only replace/upgrade what is required to go faster as I develop as a driver.

The car currently holds the M2 lap record around Sydney Motorsport Park GP Circuit which is the track configuration used for WTAC and is 1.1 seconds off the outright fastest street registered BMW lap time.

Mega build! currently this is the fastest M2 on the east coast of Australia with all the lap records for the F87 platform on most our popular circuits.

Very impressive build and lap time at GP cct. What sort of hp and torque are you achieving? How many seconds is it worth on the cct?

Hi Don, car is currently making about 450whp right now. Hard to quantify in terms of seconds it is worth but I would say at least a second or two.

Recently attended one of the biggest annual events in Sydney being Challenge Bathurst in which we get to drive at the infamous Mount Panorama Circuit. It was an amazing experience and left with P2 in class! Enjoy some shots from the event along with the lap.

As the track season is upon us in Australia, car is going through a major overhaul including:
  • New front wheel bearings
  • Ohlins coilover full service and rebuild
  • Ap Brakes full service and rebuild

One other major change for this year being a 295 square setup. I have been on a 265/295 setup for years and am looking forward to testing how and if this setup suits my driving.

Enjoy some pics of how it currently sits. I shall report back with my findings after my first test day which is in a couple of weeks.

That video is bad ass. Turn in at 269kph is some big boy stuff.

Specs on wheels, spacers, tires, camber? Also, what trimming and clearance work did this require?

How’s the coolant and oil temps managing the power level?

The 265/295 setup is:
  • 18x9.5 +16 (+28 with a 12mm spacer) front on a 265/35/18 Hankook Z221
  • 18x10.5 + 38 on a 295/30/18 Hankook Z221
  • Camber is -3.7 front -3 rear

The 295 setup is currently (subject to further tweaking after testing):
  • 18x10.5 +10 (+38 with 28mm spacer) on a 295/30/18 Hankook Z221
  • 18x10.5 + 33 (+38 with 5mm spacer) on a 295/30/18 Hankook Z221
  • Camber is -4 front -3.2 rear

Front fenders are rolled and slightly flared. Fender lining has yet to be trimmed and only rubs are bathurst so may trim before I go back there at end of this year. The car has aftermarket front springs and lower preload collars milled down to maximise clearance.

Regarding oil and coolant temps, I don't have an issue at any track except Bathurst due to the extended period that I am on wide open throttle. We saw about 127c oil temp and 117c coolant temp at its peak after 3 hot laps with an ambient temp of about 25c, intake temps rose to 45-50c at the end of the 3 hot laps.

Mind you the car has stock cooling aside from an upgraded intercooler, so it far exceeded my expectations. The oil coolers and radiators will be upgraded this year plus adding on water meth to manage intake temps.

Thanks for the intel. Build is awesome. Love seeing them do work.

Any cooling upgrades beyond the intercooler with those temps or is that on stock hardware?

All stock hardware except the wagner evo 3 currently. Future plans are to upgrade the radiator and either upgrade the oil cooler or add an extra oil cooler with its own loop via the thermostat.

Finally had some time to put the car through its paces on the new 295 square setup. Safe to say that it works really well as we were able to break the street registered BMW lap record at my local track which happens to be the circuit used for World Time Attack.

Enjoy some action shots from the event.
