Just LOVE the M2, the 2-er, and well, the previous gen 1-er coupes. They are the soul of BMW. I think what they have done to the 3-er has inadvertently made this happen.

Naming conventions aren't really that important as compared to the size and driving feel. Compare the size and overall shape of E46 with a 135. You'll find they are a lot more similar than an E46 with a current or recent 3 or 4 series.
