Curious if you drove the car much before the M Performance suspension, and if you could comment more on the before/after...thanks!

Ah yes I definitely did! The Bimmerpost iPad app seems to have a bunch of quoting bugs.

Hy!

I didn´t drive the car much before upgrading to M-Performance. With the standard settings it is very hard! After a small setting correction it drives´s very nice.

Just LOVE the M2, the 2-er, and well, the previous gen 1-er coupes. They are the soul of BMW. I think what they have done to the 3-er has inadvertently made this happen.

I must correct you on soul of BMW.

3er has always been bread and butter and has been there sense 75'

2er or even 1er are so new to bmw fleet.

I love 2er and own M2C for track days. But icon and soul belongs to 3er.

Naming conventions aren't really that important as compared to the size and driving feel. Compare the size and overall shape of E46 with a 135. You'll find they are a lot more similar than an E46 with a current or recent 3 or 4 series.

Driving feel like E36 M3 lightweight or E46 M3CSL

You are 100% right and I should've clarified my point further. The 1-er and new 2-series is what the 3-series used to be, and that is why I referred to them as the 'soul'.
