If a person doesn't track the car they can replace the pads with Akebono's and get 75K or more out of the pads/rotors.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about these pads, so I’ve gone ahead and ordered front and rears

The pricing is ridiculously reasonable and they include the brake sensors

Thanks for posting that. I didn't know this was an issue for the M2. Our prior 2012 F10 (535I) the had that issue. You'd think BMW would have figured out a fix.

I don't think they want to fix all of their known issues. I'm sure if I were there bean counter I could tell you why, but until then it's just speculation as to why.

I wouldn't worry too much about milage especially if buying a stock car, most of the issues are pretty basic.

Hear me out so I’m looking at a very low mileage OG M2 , about 19k miles, m2 with about 49k . I’m also looking at an m2c worth 51k that has about 40k miles. In terms of value what would be a better buy ?

Probably the m2c based purely off pricing alone. If you factor in mileage, idk it becomes much harder. Probably best to compare to other cars and figure out a price that way.

Markets price used cars pretty efficiently these days so they’re both valued on par with what markets would say they’re worth. In other words, neither one of these is a “deal”, just different buys.

Drive both, see if you have a preference between them. The only real difference is the engine and the updated dash in the M2C. Both will last well beyond 100k miles if properly maintained so take that for what it’s worth. They’re both reliable engines.

The only consideration worth mentioning is that if you plan to get into track days, the OG is the better option for a dual purpose tool for reasons I’ve outline on here before.

It’s your money. Only you can determine the better buy. Forums can’t do that for you.

Sorry to bring such an old thread up but does anyone have a preventative maintenance rotation based on mileage/age of vehicle.

Happy thanksgiving

Here’s the maintenance interval I’m planning on using for my ‘18 M2 LCI:
https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2022766

It’s based on Mike Miller’s “old-school” maintenance schedule, the BMW factory maintenance recommendations, and input from folks here on the forum. Some of it is probably slightly more aggressive than needed, but with free fluid replacements from FCP Euro, I’m OK with that. And the schedule includes replacing fluids (like the manual transmission fluid) that BMW says are “lifetime” fluids.

A fellow forum member also shared this truly handy spreadsheet for tracking all these maintenance items and when they’re coming due:

Late 2016, just over 41k miles, followed BMW service routine (but not always BMW itself, I use a BMW specialist for some work) and I've had no issues.
