So, the launch car that I am purchasing and paying full MSRP for is going to sit in the showroom for a couple of weeks while every dude in town with muddy shoes and skid marked undies are farting in it? Well, that sucks!

No, but it sounds like we cant take it home until after April 16th. If they get it earlier than that it will have to stay there right? Could they just hide it somewhere?

Just that you declared with such certainty Dinan was getting an M2. I was simply wondering what your source was, that's all. I should've left out the distance thing.

Excellent. If it all works right, their packages will be ready or close to it by the time I get hands on a car....

Hopefully since most of the engine seems to be similar to the N55 with only a few S55 parts on the internals, the tuning process will be quick for all the tuners out there. I really hope that the piggy back box is done away with and a real tune is set in place in the ECU.

That's up to the user. I'm buying a HEA car. I don't care if people sit in it. Just don't turn it on. My Production number is 155. It's under quality check.

This is the only way i'll get the car in the next year. Either I wait until I officially order one and way a year or I just buy this HEA. model.

I talked to my CA and he said they won't have it opened for other people to climbing all over it...that's if the not taking it until April 16th is even true in the first place.

From what I can tell, with the basic N55 motor, as opposed to the N55/S55 hybrid in the M2, they get 355 hp and 401 ft. lbs in the 35i application on Stage 2. Bet they will beat those numbers pretty handily for the M2, or there won't be a lot of buyers, but it's a baseline of sorts...

My M2 has finished production and currently waiting at port. BMW rep said "for some reason, the date it arrives is not showing up in the system."

More typical M2 related bullshit.

Don't stress my friend I'm in the exact same spot. They didn't plan on all these hea cars getting snagged up. Have you made a my BMW account?

It has nothing to do with the press reviews. The info from BMW is that M2 deliveries will start April 16.
Agree. And it will likely be that date.

Do not be surprised if you track these early builds to port and customs holds them for a week or two pending CARB (EPA) certification.

Exactly! As far as I remember, it happened to the first batch of 340i's.

I don't think dealers are allowed to sell the first car (and you take it home) until after the official retail launch. Same thing when the M4 came out... there was a sold M4 that sat at my dealer for several weeks and the owner couldn't take it home.

Retail launch is April 16th (as noted) in Canada... I assume it's the same in the US.
Correct. Same for 1M
