I am around products and I know people are always on the look out for the next best thing...that's why there are limited editions, special editions...etc No one ever wants a sports car cycle to last for a hundred years...sports car owners always want changes that's why the mod market exist. As to whether you find the G series beautiful or not...that's your opinion and nothing to do with me really. I am simply pointing out the fallacy that consumer doesn't want changes. People doesn't want to change their habit, but not on a product. |

What I'm excited for, in no particular order: - Nice interior, I'm also OK with big curved screen - Improved steering feel, as seen in G80/2 reviews. And wouldn't be shocked they keep improving it over the years - Improved exhaust sound of S58 vs S55 - M seems to have figured out a nice balance of sporty ride and comfort - Really loving the flares, I thought that was a little bit lacking on the F87 - No problems with the brakes, they don't look as nice as current M2C, but per the reviews, they really get the job done. - Much happier with color selections on the G80, I only like LBB and Misano on the F87 - 8AT is irrelevant for me as I'd personally never consider any 2 pedal cars anyway, so the 6MT really might be the last M ever made with 3 pedals. Not so keen, but we shall see: - Increased weight is probably inevitable, but to be honest, I will still keep either the E85 Z4M or E36 M3 (or both), and they're both lighter and smaller than these cars anyway - More complexity? How does that affect reliability? - Price increase? - Loved the way the options were on the F87, hope it stays similar, and also hoping for carbon buckets

Here's another article with recent spy shots. Is that a carbon roof, or just a black G87? I think its just a black car

Yes, I believe so too. No ugly grill (would be too much for a small car like the M2), but I really hope the tail lights aren't as ugly as the 2 series spy shots we've seen. After seeing many G80/2 in person now, its not the grills that bother me much. Its the side profile, and Lexus/Acura/Hyundai looking rear that do. I cant get over those.

Latest spy pic of a G42 M-Sport. Pretty aggressive looking for a non M car. Can't wait to see how the G87 will look.

I really like what I see; that bulbous front hood line, with a chopped-off rear trunk is one awesome automotive silhouette, sort of like a throwback to the Z4 or 1M.
I believe some of have christen this look as the "clownshoe" styling, - in a more contemporary skin and all with all the modern bells and whistles is a winning combination. The next M2 is really shaping up to be something special, I can't wait to see what they bring to the table. Just please red seats and Adaptive Suspension, if you're listening BMW.. |

I don't really see the clown shoe, reminds me more of a Jag F-type. I also really like the other spy pics of the flared fenders and quarters which makes sense if it's going to repurpose the G80/2 drivetrain.
Also, it looks like the G87 won't be hampered like the F87 was with options. ynguldyn makes no mention of adaptive suspension, but it sounds promising that it may finally get it. Quote:

Yeah it's really confusing with what appears to be a power dome and M mirrors on this and other spy pics of an M440i. Not sure what to make of that either unless BMW is going all in on whoring out M everything.
