Generally speaking M2, especially in this season where you can have high humidity situations and very slippery road for high grip after couple of hours during the same day, is dangerous because you have to be aware from full throttle.
Is very very easy to lose control of the car especially with traction mode that is highly permissive. All of us guys, the winter is coming, we have to forget full throttle to avoid very dangerous situations. Rip Ps I still do not understand why airbag doesn't explode. |

for anyone questioning the safety of these cars, just know that you can trip and bump your head and die from that.

Awful to see. Seems like a local road, with I'm assuming to be low speed limits. Very surprised to see an accident like this could take place on a road such as this, which results in the loss of a life.

Please stay safe out there friends. Track/streets/closed roads or whatever else it maybe, these can all go bad really quick. No one wants to hear these stories and it's not worth the few minutes of adrenaline. |

This is so true. In the morning with dew on the road, cold weather and of course with rain it is better to use full traction control with a beasty car like the M2C. On the track it is a controlled environment, driving on the street is another story.

It is sad, but with all that power you can do anything you want on a local/side road, especially one that has low limits (presumably for a reason). Get sideways at fairly high speeds and go into a tree broadside, which will put more energy at the contact point than the standard safety test, and the lateral G has a good chance of killing you.

Correction
He worked for BMW, I know because if you look in the upper middle of the windscreen you can see a sticker just off the center. They come in a variant of colors depending on your position within the company.
I think the one on this M2 is blue, if that's the case he was head of a department which is a very high position. Intern one'd say he's G11 the highest level being, I believe, G15 which is the board of management (their cars don't have stickers because of security reasons). May he rest in peace, my prayers are with his family. |

There goes insurance rates on the M2 ,That's scary all the new tech and design can't stop you from sliding into a tree. They are going to have to start putting x-drive in these cars to hold the power like the M-5. Anyone know how old the fellow was. RiP

Looks like a residential area, and given how much of a light sweeper that is, the driver must've been ripping it like crazy to oversteer and then careen into a tree that hard.
RIP...
