Here is another product that was recommended. I haven’t actually used it but the detailer said it should work.

I’m guessing anything “clear” or natural will. 👍🏻

Hey folks. I had to do some unexpected travel and was away for a bit.

I see someone has come up with what seems to be a good fix, albeit maybe temporary as the same thing may happen for the same reasons (and you can do the same fix which seems like a 3 minute gig per side).

I tried my wrap thing with it. I couldn't get the lever off the car so was forced to do it on the car. I have also never wrapped small parts (or any parts).

So I gave it a whirl. I had a heat gun, some little scissors and a bondo spreader. It went really well. The heat was a big help. It's not perfect underneath, but most but me will never know.

I don't hate it. I guess what's nice is that I can just peel it off.

I would probably try something like Koch Chemie Pss on these plastics if they are that bad.

Haven't tried it yet, too many irons in the fire.

The only problem I have with this is that every time you look at it, you know it's not real CF hiding something you hate knowing is still there haha.

Ha. You’re right. That’s my battle to fight.

I like that my two suggestions both work and look 100% stock.

I tried a beeswax which I kept for maintenance of my guitar. It made it better but not perfect…I was greatly impressed by the glossy black look of the handle at first but the stain came back as I wiped the wax out.
The final result was I would say “slightly better than before”.

Is there any tips for success?
Should I leave it after application instead of wiping/polishing it and should I repeat this procedure until satisfactory result is achieved? May be the wax I used was not appropriate.

I just used one coat and polished with a microfiber cloth. Still looks good.

These show my result; before (left) and after applying beeswax (right). It got mitigated but not perfect. Repeating a couple more times may remove all the stain hopefully.

Damn, almost didn't even change it. But... a fellow Tokyoite is good to see around these parts!

A result after my second application of the wax.
It seems working little by little.

Awesome. I'll be doing that too. Can you tell me what wax you bought and used? From Amazon Japan?

This thread is funny because that seat handle is so annoyingly common as a problem! It's like the F87 suffers from only a handful of things.. and somehow, the seat handle is one of them.

This one called “Warwick Surface Finisher” came with a German bass guitar for the maintenance of oil finished (non-painted) wooden furface of the instrument.
The wax had been available separately but was discontinued many years ago. You can find dead stock in some shops or ebay at various pricing.
I suppose you don’t need to adhere to this particular product. Any beeswax should work.

I wiped it down with some Armor-all I had lying around and it worked well. Easy peasy.
