BMW performance school car?
I am looking at a 2020 M2C that is at a non BMW dealer near me. It was titled in wood cliff lake, NJ-which is a sign that it could have been a perf school car. However, a couple things make me think that it was not. It was serviced at BMW of Newton NJ at 1,200, 10k and 13k miles. And it was owned by the original purchaser all the way those 13k miles. I have seen posts that say that the performance center gets rid of cars around 5-7k miles. I am thinking this may have been a BMW executives car. Anyone with more knowledge think any differently? Thanks.

The two performance centers are in CA and SC so if this car was serviced in NJ I don't think it was a performance center car. Is it a DCT? If it's a manual, it definitely is not a performance car.

It was most likely a BMW NA employee working at Woodcliff Lake. Could have also been a corporate demo that was a shared vehicle at the headquarters. Would not be surprised with mileage like that; I don't recall ever seeing any car over 20k kms at the BMW Canada lot for comparison.

Almost certainly an exec car. Performance Center in Greenville services their cars themselves (duh) and I doubt would even show up on Carfax.
That said, not sure I'd want a Performance Center car, if that turned out to be true. Having been to multiple events there, I've seen the daily abuse they take. They're super well-maintained, but still..

I agree, makes no sense being serviced in Jersey if there is no performance center there. I know and have attended a M track day in Monticello NY but I assume all the cars there will be brought in for the event since its just about 1 week per year.
And I also agree that I would not want a performance center car, I mean the car can do what they are asked to do but day in day out at the track and sometimes treated by people that don't know how to drive will get some extra wear out of the car in less miles. |
