I do have an insider, but sadly GT4 allocations are no more. Would need to buy used.

Have you put a deposit down for the Lotus? Reading the Lotus forums, seems like there is a bit of a wait. One commenter said late 2023/ early 2024

Nope no deposit yet. Waiting to see some in depth reviews for the lotus and also the M2 before making moves. Not in any rush or anything

OK I'm going to put my flag in the ground here.
I may end up getting a G87 to replace the F87 but won't be an early adopter. If I do though, I will seriously attempt a G42 dashboard and iDrive7 'downgrade' (upgrade), with G80/G82 cluster coding. Have the tools (E-Sys and ISTA) and have done retrofits before, but not quite that level. |

I'll go for the disgusting looking M3/4 before the M2. Even if the latter turns out to be the better car. I can't do an M car not made in Germany.

Asked my dealer for an allocation when available and Im sure he will call. Once I understand what has been done, I'll make a decision.
The Lotus 6 cylinder I was told by a dealer in Jersey, its too late to get the inaugural. Besides, I believe in the M brand, less so Geely corp. I too prefer the German build. So for now I truly believe the F87 is indeed a gem. Ill stop short of saying the cliche, future classic. But lets see more of tbe G87, Im open to it.

FYI this is already done in the US, at least the second part of your sentence. BMW telematics gets all this data, and while I am not sure they sell it to insurance companies most OEM's now do.

Maybe there will be a huge surprise and the next M2 will actually look good, though even if that happens it'll still be bigger and significantly heavier. Also, I love my OG M2 and would not consider parting with her. But what really kills any potential consideration of the G87 is the lack of European Delivery. I've already planned a lot of my next European Delivery trip - it'll start in Stuttgart.

The only versions of the G87 M2 that matter are CS or CSL. The Base and Competition will be lame with the weight gains.

There's nothing else to think about. Loved the F87 the second it came out and wanted it. Same with the Lotus Emira. I put down my deposit for an Emira in November 2021. I won't expect delivery until late 2023 for an MY2024 most likely LOL. |

Have a deposit down at my dealer for allocation waitlist. Liking the car a lot after today's series of videos that came out, especially the rear.
With the carbon buckets/roof and hopefully a package for HUD, this thing will be a beast |
