Gain differential between FM radio and Satellite radio?

Does everyone have a significant gain differential between FM radio and Satellite radio on their M2C? When I switch between the two sources, the FM radio is noticeably quieter than Satellite and I always have to adjust volume.

They may need headroom to prevent clipping depending on the input. Satellite is digital so the maximum input level is known (0 dbFS). They could have been conservative on the FM input, or it could just be something that no one paid a lot of attention to and there is some attenuation for no reason.

The SAT radio and regular radio have a big difference in volume. XM is significantly louder!

I would say its even worse between a connected source such as iphone and the radio... i don't know how such a basic things could have been missed. If you are listening to spotify on your phone and switch to sat radio it will blast audio so loud it could scare you.

Same here and it's annoying. I don't have this problem in the Mazdas I own -- I can move between FM/SiriusXM presets and not have to change the volume.

This is how mine is - I ned to actively remember to turn it down going to XM from any other input source. The rest - FM, CarPlay and USB - are all pretty similar levels.

Same, same here. And it was the same way in my 2017 Jeep Wrangler. I figured it was just the better, more powerful signal from satellite radio?
